OEM chin spoiler
So I finally broke down and pulled the trigger on an OEM chin spoiler for the Mach. I've seen them on the web here and there, but AutoNation Ford (Tousley) finally quit selling them, so I figured I'd better do it before their gone forever. I bought it from LMR...
https://lmr.com/item/LRS-17626M1-K/9...1-Chin-Spoiler Very pricey, but it honestly looks a lot better IMO. Sitting back about 3/16 to 1/4 in really makes it look cleaner up front. Is it worth $210 lol..? IG: @rcodemach1

Thanks! No, I didn't, mainly because here locally they never have an Mach 1 parts. That's here though, so that's probably a good idea for those in other locations. IG: @rcodemach1

That's not the chin. That's the lower deflector. Mines painted, but I think my bumper was painted before, so not sure if they are normally painted. IG: @rcodemach1

Re: OEM chin spoiler
Looks great. You simply cannot argue with the fit, finish, and originality of OEM/NOS parts. Period.

That is the right part. Ford just shows it different in the picture .

If that is true, that AutoNation Ford price is excellent! Also, good to see it still available in other places. IG: @rcodemach1

Re: OEM chin spoiler
interesting though if you put in the part number to google, it comes up as a chin spoiler.

A couple days before buying the chin spoiler from LMR, I bought the windshield cowl from AutoNation. It wasn't badly priced either really. Just maybe $20-30 more than aftermarket. It looks great too. Feels like it's actually thicker than the aftermarket cowls. It's like my Mach used hair club for men, she looks younger lol.

Lol, yeah I've heard others say that. These same guys don't have Mach's. Or, at least the few I've had mention it weren't. LMR even has it wrong in their video for the OEM chin spoiler saying it doesn't and their SVE replica does. Pure salesmanship lol. The factory chin spoiler continues to the edge of the fender on both sides. It also sits back about 3/16" to 1/4" from the front lip of the bumper. I posted a comment on their video but I've never seen a reply. IG: @rcodemach1

Re: OEM chin spoiler
How flush do the non oem chin spoilers sit with the edge of the bumper? I need to buy a new one and for sure wouldn't like it to sit back more than the oem does.

If you buy the LMR $60 one, it will sit pretty flush with the front of the bumper and go to the edge on the fenders. You have to drill new holes to mount that one. That's the one I had since 2013. The texture is pretty close to OEM. The $60 one from American Muscle doesn't go to the edge of the fenders if you mount it flush with the front of the bumper. Also, it has a shiny look and the texture is a lot different than OEM. If you don't want to shell out the cash for the OEM piece, the LMR version is definitely the way to go. IG: @rcodemach1

OEM chin spoiler
Here's a comparison of the two in the front.
The top shot is right after I mounted the LMR chin back in 2013. It still looked okay, but the gap in the front between the bumper and the chin was a bit larger. I'm guessing from the sun..? IG: @rcodemach1

Re: OEM chin spoiler
Tks for the answers guys. Won't go with the am one that's for sure. I see what your saying about the bigger gap with the lmr one but it seems that it it looks nicer standing out flush with the bumper compared to the oem witch is recessed a bit but with less gap....
