Best move for the Mach

Hey guys so for Christmas I got a very nice bonus from work and with my saved up I can afford to do a supercharger I was thinking of a vortec one but I am not sure anymore. My Mach 1 is a daily driver with 126,000 miles on it and don't know if it's a good idea to add a supercharger with that many miles. I was also thinking of doing a tranny swap from my auto to a 5 speed but I am stuck on what to do! What do you guys recommend? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If the car is a daily driver like you say it is, then I'd take it one well-thought-out step at a time. You will need custom tuning for a blower and would be better done after the trans swap.

I'd start with the 5spd. conversion and go from there. If you want a vortech, look for a self contained head unit like the V3 series.

Take that bonus and saved money and buy yourself a dd so that way you can just have the Mach as a weekend warrior and build car!!

Keep in mind - if you add a blower, it will break other items on that car. My Mach with 15k miles on it when the blower went on broke my transmission, differential, and axles - so plan for things like that.

Your mileage would also scare me - I would want to have a back car available if you are going to SC it.

That's what I did. I bought a 97 Ranger 5 years ago and the mach is reserved for weekend track duty and occasional nice weather cruising.
