steeda quadrant install

Ive had problems with my stock quadrant tripping when power shifting so i ordered a steeda quadrant and firewall adjuster. Any tips for the install?

Re: steeda quadrant install

Remove the driver seat,
then follow the directions Steeda includes with it.

Re: steeda quadrant install

Sell the adjuster,,,

Do a search and see how people have issues with FW adjusters and you will see why I said that.

The STEEDA adjuster is fine.

Re: steeda quadrant install

Just follow the directions.

Don't be afraid to break that stock p.o.s. plastic quad out of your way. Removing that was the most difficult part of the whole job for me.

Re: steeda quadrant install

IMO if you want all the problems to go away (including new problems the new quadrant might bring) save yourself the trouble and buy a micro click firewall adjuster and new Ford OEM cable while you're at it. That way you will be able to properly adjust the clutch cable.

Re: steeda quadrant install

Pretty sure the Steeda one is a micro click, we had that discussion in the other recent firewall adjuster post. Here's the links I posted in that thread:

http://www.maximummotorsports.com/co...h/MMCL-3r2.pdf

http://www.slantnosefox.com/techarti...djustment.html

Even though your adjuster is Steeda those MM instructions have good pics and should be about the same process. The other link is just a lot of useful info on quadrants and adjusters. I didn't bother taking the seat out, but if you're a big guy it would help. I'm skinny so it worked out. My adjuster was Fiore but they're all the same idea, the holes you have to drill might be in slightly different spots. Just go slow there because it's tight, make sure the drill is straight.
