I was watching that game. Never bet on the Big Ten in the Rose Bowl. They lose almost every time.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Those first ten or so minutes had me really worried, then we put the Aggies in their place. Now to see in the 24 to 48 hours who our coach will be next season?

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Hats off to LSU last night. We had a great year and I really feel, despite last nights performance, that we have finally turned the corner and can say the program is pointed in the right direction for the first time in a very long time.

Hurts to lose, but a lot of positives going into next year for the program.
Sherman is clearly the right man for the job...Finally.....

Hats off to the Tigers and Gig'em Aggies...

Re: College Football back in full swing!

A&M will be very strong next year, and if Miles stays LSU will be a strong contender for the big game as well. Would be a cool rematch next year for the championship.

I'm good with that.

Playing against better/stronger teams makes you better period. Playing lesser versions to pad your schedule does nothing but make you overconfident...

I would love to see us get rid of some of the North Texas State games we seem to have scheduled each year, and play against the Lsu's the Ark, Notre Dame, etc. Teams with some serious background and depth.

But give the kids credit...9-3 beating Nebraska, OU, Texas, Tech, this season was no small feat...

My apologies...You are correct and I stand corrected...The Bears have continued to improve and been a serious competitor over the last few years. The days of Baylor being a sure win are gone...and thats a good thing...

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Looking forward to the upcoming football season....

1. Eager to watch the LSU Tigers play the Oregon Ducks at Cowboy Stadium on Saturday. It will be interesting after the "bar brawl" at LSU and ultimate suspension of some players to the "alleged illegal" Oregon recruiting of Lache Seastrunk from Temple, Texas. Seastrunk got "homesick" and asked for a release from Oregon to come back home (Baylor).

2. Anticipating the game on Friday the mighty Baylor Cubs against the TCU Horned Frogs who beat Baylor 45-10 last year. They can't even give away tickets to the game. Everyone is going to the high school games. Duh! Seastrunk is not cleared to play yet. TCU is still mad because they weren't invited to the Big-12 which was probably the best thing for them.

3. Also interesting in that Texas A&M asked to leave the Big-12 to go to the SEC today. WTF? So much for 110+ years of tradition....all because UT has their own Longhorn Network????

Re: College Football back in full swing!

We've got four starters out for some time; 2 due to the infamous bar brawl, 1 due to NCAA code violation, and one injured. At least our team didn't get pulled over and tell the cop "We smoked all the weed"...go Ducks?

Hoping epic failure for longhorn network. They already lost high school football games filling a time slot. Only so many Earl Campbell & Vince Young highlight clips they can run. Not even in the AP top 25 and they have a network...?

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Quite a 'stormy' weekend for college football, and really glad our game wasn't at home. Looks like the Tigers were serving up Duck Soup last night. If we do make the big game, or even the SEC champoinship, it'll be on th ebacks of the defense and special teams.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Baylor upset #14 TCU on Friday night 50-48. If you read the daily newspaper you would think (know) that BU will win the National Championship and the QB Robert Griffin III will win the Heisman Trophy. We go thru the same @#$% every year and they end up 4-7 and don't make a bowl game. Don't they have like 60 teams playing in bowl games?

Re: College Football back in full swing!

I watched my team Saturday, the Florida Gators. Coaching seemed much improved and I like what I see at 21 of the 22 starting positions on the field. HOWEVER I think they are deficient at the quarterback position. Last year he was pure garbage and I am not impressed by what I saw Saturday night. Coupled with a pretty rough schedule I have a sneaking feeling it could be a long year, even though I think it will be a definate improvement over last year because they have coaches who: (1) Haven't quit on the team (see Meyer.) and (2) Have a clue (see Addazio.)

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Maryland beat Miami. Even with their crash test dummy uniforms on. They have a bunch of new uniforms to choose from. Don't remember how many. Can't wait to see what they look like next week.
I guess Maryland wants to be Oregon - East.
No wonder Gary Williams retired.....The B-ball team uniforms will be bright Yellow Man Thongs....By Under Armor.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Those were some seriously eye-catching uniforms. Glad the won, so they have something good to talk about.
How in the world did LSU end up with a #2 ranking? I'm happy for the team, but really...does everyone elses QB rank as high in mediocrity?

Yeah, but with Tebow gone he has big shoes to fill. Our guy only has to not get arrested to outdo his predecessor!
