Re: College Football back in full swing!

Thanks to the Iowa Hawkeyes they put me over the top in two college bowl pools I was in. No one could catch me in Wins and Losses. I won $320. :PIMP:

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Listen to this crap:

"NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (AP) -- The new BCS executive director officially began his tenure Thursday by saying the often-criticized postseason represents a consensus among the 120 schools that play major college football.

Bill Hancock said a playoff at college football's highest level would lead to more injuries, conflict with final exams, kill the bowl system and diminish the importance of the regular season."

But it's ok for the Division II and III schools. I suppose their injuries, final exams and regular season just aren't all that important. What a bunch of hypocritical hogwash.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Yeah, it was kind of ironic growing up in Iowa and the Haweyes wear black and gold then the Steelers have the same colors. I thought Iowa was gonna blow it at the end of the game like the Steelers did this year. Went to Hooters with some work friends and drank beer and ate wings with my winnings while watching the Cowpies game.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Another season, and we start out with the sorriest season opener in memory. We have zero offense, and the only thing I can feel good about after yesterdays results is that I'm not an Ole Miss fan...

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Good game by both. If Boise St. keeps it up it should be a good argument starter when it comes time for bowl selection as far as a Nat'l Champ. contender.

Thumbs up Re: College Football back in full swing!

Shout out to Alabama folks everywhere from Massachusetts. A number of us up here are Tide fans by association - we go to Huntsville a lot. Me, I admire Alabama because they're serious. May Iowa play 'em for it all...

Re: College Football back in full swing!

How 'bout them dawgs? I admit we played a not so great team last week, but a 55 to 7 win with a freshman QB isn't bad. And we were down 3 of our best starters.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

I need more TVs Too many games to watch.

South Carolina looked good.

Ohio State is getting more than they bargained for it seems.

Michigan / ND is a good game so far.

FSU - not ready for primetime - yet - maybe next year. Ditto for my Nittany Lions - they are in for a looong night - next year will be better.

Gators look ripe to be picked by someone this year. We'll see.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

At least we managed a respectable win...OK, it was over Vandy...semi-respectable.
A lot of really good games yesterday, it's gonna be a roller coaster ride this season.

Ah yes, the Iowa Chokeyes. They do well in bowl games, but put them in front of the camera any other time and they almost always get killed.
