Hard to believe that it was 17 years ago today, also a Friday the 13th, that I made to trek to the now-defunct Amite City Ford to pick up 340804, the 13th production Mach 1 built and 66th built overall. As I do on most days, it'll be taking me to work today and Maching right along just like it does many other days.
It's been quite a ride in so many ways, can't wait to see what's next!

That would be a good feeling, to have bought your Mach new and still have it with all the memories along the way.

The one and only time someone sat in the back seat, was when my wife sat there during the test drive! It was just prepped with 3 miles on it and bought with 13.

Re: 17 years ago

I purchased my Mach 1 twice.. lol

First time was August 18th, 2003 from Town Ford in Bordentown, NJ it was sitting on the lot. It was the correct color and it was an automatic which was also what I was looking for so my wife could drive it. Traded the Mach1 in for a 2011 Shelby GT500 on August 18th, 2010.

The second time I bought it was from the 5th owner on March 3rd, 2017. The guy was working in my town I saw the car a few days before actually being able to see it up close and verify it was my old car. I saw the VIN# and new it was mine. (I have the VIN# memorized) Not letting it go again except maybe to my son sometime down the road.

Didn't really think about the memories I had with the car until I got it back this time. I took tons of photos of the car and my 2 sons who were so young then I took them everywhere I went and now they are both driving.
Along with the cars I met a lot of really cool people along the way and have remained friends with most of them. I've had 16 years plus with the Mach 1 minus a 7 year divorce...

Re: 17 years ago

Mine was actually built On 2/4/03 so quickly approaching official 17 years. Purchased on 4/17/03.
Been a great ride. Enjoy it every time I drive the car. Still drive the Mach more than my 2019...

Great fun to have had these first 17 (almost) years with the car...looking forward to the next 17...

Re: 17 years ago

Seldom visit the site anymore but it’s nice to see familiar names!

Got mine on Oct 10th, 2003 from the showroom floor. Build date was May 30, 2003. Now has 61k miles on it, never wrecked or driven in the rain. Did get ONE ticket- 50 in a 35 LOL but that was 10 years ago! Still smells like new inside but sits in the garage under a cover with a battery tender. Always a thrill to roll into the throttle!
