What pistons you guys running on a built mach 1 engine.
So I am about to start an engine build. But selecting the pistons is a challenge:
1 - Need to manage budget, so can't get just anything. Need off the shelf .020" over piston based on my block state and machinist. 2 - Want it to have close compression to our stock ratio of 10.1 since it will start out as a N/A build, but have direct plans down the road to add boost, so it needs to hold up. HP range down the road will be 600+ rwhp. I have most of the standard bolt-ons now. 3 - I need it to be street and strip with long service life as it is a daily driver. So 50k life on say a 2618 forged piston wort cut it. Needs to at least be around 80-100k service like with good maintenance. Also the block will be torque plated which I know helps piston/ring life. So what are you guys running? I am struggling on choices which have close to our N/A compression ratio. I was also considering a 4032 forged for longer life, but again, choices, budget, and compression are very limited. Thanks |

well my Mach runs a 03 cobra motor, so manley…
The Marauder has a built motor with 10.25 compression and are Diamond pistons

Thanks for the info. I am looking at some Wiseco pistons that will be 2618 alloy but should be able to give me near stock compression so it is good to drive N/A for a while. Then I will be able to move to boost with confidence.
