Am I a Jerk for this???

I will make this short. Okay , so I am driving on Jamboree Rd. (local road in the OC) about 2PM after just washing and waxing the Mach. It is a nice street that is pretty long with a 60 MPH speed limit. So this little grey Honda (female driver) is totally tailgating me for no reason. I switch lanes, then she does, etc. but still keeps like 1 foot off my bumper. So I gun it and change lanes and sure enough, it resumes. So I get mad but keep my cool and just decide to go the speed limit (I usually always drive at least 5mph over as a buffer).

As I apprach the speed limit, she still is on my arse and sure enough, 2 California Highway Patrol motor bikes are there just checking speeds and point the radar gun at me. Again I am going the speed limit. When I see them, I flash my lights and few times and gently point my thumb to the rear and softly say look at that!

5 seconds later hear comes one of the motorbikes lights red and blue on but for some reason pulls over the grey Honda that WAS tailgaiting me. Now I hate getting tickets and don't want to see someone else get one but man people have to learn to drive in general and stop tempting the Machs!!!

So, good job CHP for enforcing the vehicle code on that one! Cal. Veh. Code 21703, which clearly reads:

The driver of a motor vehicle shall not follow another
vehicle more closely than is reasonable and prudent, having due
regard for the speed of such vehicle and the traffic upon, and the
condition of, the roadway.

I was happy when she got pulled over so maybe it will save her life in the future but I also feel like a scumbag. I don't know if she actually got written up but oh well hey, I am sick of people tailgating me all the time cause it makes we wanna gun it, then I get busted...not this time

Pretty cool, hope you stopped on the way home and bought a Powerball ticket as your luck seemed to be going pretty good today. It's usually the Mustangs that get the tickets.

LoL except for the ttt - what does that mean? But yeah I do kinda feel like a rat but hey, maybe thr moron will never do that again and I just saved her life later on. Do you know how many accidents are caused by tailgaters? I believe it is the number 1 cause of accidents, besides DUI's and speeding. But in california, the number 1 cause is MORONS!

No, I quit gambling and masturbating last year But you are right, the stangs always get the tickets but this time I knew I was following the law. But it is also interesting how police respond to flashing lights too. I guess they are really cool and passionate individuals that are just doing their job by enforcing the law. It is cool knowing that they are fair

LOL, but, but, but, I don't know if she actually did get a ticket! Maybe he just gave her a warning? I have been issued a warning before but usually in California the motorbikes give no leeway.

dropping 2 gears also sends a message, especially if you have a loud exhaust...maybe dumb taking a chance on getting rearended, but sure shocks the tailgater when you suddenly slow down without touching the brakes!

Oh wait no, I did not drop any gears or slow down suddenly. Believe me, I am not perfect and trying to brag but the last time I caused an accident was in high school in 1984! I was trying to accommodate the biotch driver by speeding up and changing lanes. When she continued and then followed me, I just let off on the gas a little bit - no brakes even involved! I know how to drive, as my dad put me through the advanced Sears driving school in 1988! It was the best back then and has saved my life on numerous ocassions. It was either attend the driving course or take a beating! I chose the driving course lol.

You know, I just thought of something. I guess I have been lucky to only have gotten one speeding ticket in the mach, which was in 2004. If I let that driver get to me, and believe me it was tempting to just gun it and say gooodnight, I would NO DOUBT have been cited this afternoon. Man, sometimes I impress myself
