dead spot right off idle

We just finished up an eaton swap and worked most of the bugs out. However, we have a slight dead spot right off idle where the car bogs for just a split second. Is this something we need to worry about or does it typically clear up once tuned?

My guess would be the tune. Do you have a start up tune in it now?

Re: dead spot right off idle

No sir, not yet, just checking to make sure we didn't have any leaks. We were
also checking to make sure we had decent throttle response and to make sure the mechanics of the throttle was working properly. This is when we uncovered the dead spot.

I'm going to assume you're not running the stock MAF and injectors. If that's the case it's going to act pretty weird until it's tuned. I wouldn't drive it without a start up tune at least.

Re: dead spot right off idle

stock injectors and MAF for now, just to make sure everything else was working as it should. We have 60's waiting to go in. Vehicle won't be driven until it gets a tune, it's going to take forever for the 19th to get here.

Re: dead spot right off idle

I had a similar issue on my build, the tune fixed me right up.

Where are you having it tuned? I only ask because I was at HPP during my time off last week and a guy there was from Lubbock and he was about to finish up his car and bring it in.

Re: dead spot right off idle

I'll be using a local shop, wish I had the time to trailer it to HPP but work just won't allow it right now. I spoke to them earlier in the week and they didn't seem to think it would be a problem clearing it up with the tune. Everything is good, just a small leak on the stupid power steering pump.
