Engian & drag legend Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins dies
Got the news this morning Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins died today or last night.
Even though I have been a Ford man all my life I respected Bill's talant for building and tuning cars. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Re: Engian & drag legend Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins dies
At age 5 or 6 years old, my brother taught me how to draw a drag car on the track. The car was Grumpy's Toy. I had never seen the car before this so I was an instant fan when I first saw Bill on the track. He was the first pro drag racer I had ever heard of. We will miss you Bill 'Grumpy'...

Re: Engian & drag legend Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins dies
I drag raced from 1959 to 1973 almost every weekend at Cecil CO, Maple Grove, Atco, Vinelind etc. and ran into, talked to a lot of these legands.
I also would go to Yorks Muscle Car madness every year to see the old drag cars and talk with the Legands. you can go to yorkus30.com or Google Muscle Car Madness in York PA. they have a lot of old/new pictures of these old guy's and their cars they use to race back in the 60's including (The Grump) as he was known by his fellow drag racers. PS he was grumpy most of the time.
