Re: bbford97's ported intake

Gary's been a great guy to do work for. He has bared thru a couple medical issues (self inflicted ) with me that put his intake on the back burner for a couple weeks. He is also a nice guy to talk to on the phone.
I'm also finishing up an epoxied short runner, I'll get some pic's of it next.

Here's a few. More epoxy came in today. This epoxy is the ugliest stuff. I told you your intake was full of baby ***** from a sick baby.

Re: bbford97's ported intake

If you don't mind me asking what exactly is the epoxy used for? Is it what has been referred to as a ported short runner intake?

Re: bbford97's ported intake

at 200 bucks a gallon, i'd rather weld a piece of aluminum on the bottom of the intake!

Its not just for a bottom. New runners will be made in the epoxy. They will be straight 5 1/2" runners with a nice entry.

You can shape epoxy well enough to make runners out of it? this is exactly why i'm having you make my short runner (eventually)!

Looks like Z spar, that stuff's fun to mix up isn't it? Just put 1/2 gallon of it it in four intakes, feels like I just worked out.

You did 4 intakes with a half gallon? What is it you find so hard about mixxing it? My wife did this one.

I'm not using it quite the same way as you. The intakes wiwth 5.5" runners have a lot of welding done on them along with the epoxy and the 9" runner intakes only get it in the area between the runner inlets.
