Turbo Mach lurks the MS coast...
Well, for the most part I have finished the Mach, and I'm driving it. I do have a few issues like the steering looks like it is puking grease from the heat, the oil sender fitting needs tightened somemore, as well as the V-bands...my tuner worked 4 hours on the tune for the car...we're pegging the 90mm LMAF at 5100 rpm...so I need to move up to SCT's....we're running 11.7 A/F to 5000rpm and pulling 2 degrees timing also (through the whole rpm range).
I'm seeing 9 psi at 5000rpm (or so) and the thing just pulls like crazy up to redline....we're thinking its laying down around 520RWHP...not that I want that much...I have my BC at the lowest setting! I'll be taking her to the track friday night (weather permitting) to see what she'll run. I'm thinking 12.0-12.5 range with this tune. I did run a 03 Cobra...he says its stock...I know thats not true, but I put him in the rear view from a 30mph (2nd gear) roll...as soon as I hit 3rd....I was gone! The car is pretty stout...and FUN FUN FUN! |

Re: Turbo Mach lurks the MS coast...
Sweet buddy! Glad its back together. I am also having the same problem with pegging the LMAF @ 5000rpm. I am going to call SCT and see if they will retuns the Mach with their MAF.. I dont know if it will make more power or not, but it will be safer.

How do you like the DnD front end. Are the coil overs noisy?

Re: Turbo Mach lurks the MS coast...
Rod...what do you think that barely used LMAF should sell for, somebody offered me $75...that seems kinda like giving it away...don't you.
Again, that 520hp is a guesstimate by my tuner..haven't been on the dyno yet. I should be able to tell by my trap speed and weight of the car by this weekend... The front end makes more noise than you can believe! I hate all that racket!!! I rides ok though.... |

That seems awefully cheap to me. I would think youd get over $100 for it. Check the Gen2 classifieds on NLOC and see what they are asking for them.

I dont know if you have a 5spd car or not but if you are and on a stock block your probably putting down around 450 rwhp. Your tuner probably left out a lot of timing to save your bottom end. You still should be about to hit 11.60s or so with some traction. none to shabby. |

Re: Turbo Mach lurks the MS coast...
Yeah, the launch pad there is done, and its MUCH better than it used to be...I'm gonna run the stock (replacement) tires first to get a good idea how she'll be on the street. Then a budd of mine has a Mach (w/nitrous) and he said I can use his drag radials too. Biggest thing I'm worried about is the stock clutch rapping out...we'll see!
My tuner guessed at my power output (as we tuned it on the street w/rapter, SCT software), he felt it was around 520 with 9psi. I haven't built the botom end yet so we're pulling timing and running her rich to be safe. A car with the same setup and 7psi made 480RWHP...thats why we're worried we may have too much power, even detuned somewhat. Rod, I may try a MAF extender...Tim at Modular Powerhouse uses them alot with great success...so I'm hoping that will stp the pegging. |
