Does anyone know where I can find a Model of a Silver Birch 2004 Mercury Marauder? I want to get one for my father for Christmas.

Re: Die -cast cars

I just ordered a 1:18 scale diecast of Eleanor. Should get it sometime next month. Can't wait. I already have a 1:64 and a 1:24 scale of Eleanor.

Re: Die -cast cars

One of our guys in our Mustang Club has the one from shelby collectibles. It is sooo sweet, even has the snake etched in the case. On a side note, I got my Aston Martin DBS (Casino Royale) last night. Very nice!!!

I may have asked this before but I don't remember. I see you have three different sizes of mach in your avatar. Where did you get the two smaller ones from. I've been looking but all I can find is the 1:18 scale.

Re: Die -cast cars

In the words of James T. Kirk..."You may ask..."

Seriously. The large car is the 1:18 Auto Art car. The medium size car is a 1:32 car be New Ray. Both can be commercially purchased with ebay being porbably your best source. The 1:64 car is a Johnny Lightning Mustang GT kit which I modified (rear spoiler, hood blister and shaker all made from balsa wood) and painted to match my car...before I ever got the car. Since there were two cars in the set (1 coupe, 1 cinv.) I also built a Mach 1 conv., which honestly turned out even better than the coupe. Might do another one if I ever run across another kit. (First I have to start on my 1:25 MRT Interceptor custom model, I've already done 1:64 Interceptor Hot Wheels for everyone one the MRT Design team)

Re: Die -cast cars

Awesome! Thanks. I will have to do some looking around and possibly do some mods to a diecast. Was it hard to make them out of balsa?

Re: Die -cast cars

I just got this in the mail yesterday, pre-ordered it back in Sept.

I also have the Boss 351 car too both from Danbury Mint. A little pricey but pretty good quality IMO.

Re: Die -cast cars

Not really. You have to accept that you're not going to get any real detail, but doing the hood bulge was the part that required the most 'sculpting', and it really still isn't right. The yellow conv. I did has only a shaker added with no hood blister and looks better. If I can find the disc with the shots of them I'll post them up.

Cool. I kinda figured you wouldn't get a real lot of detail but as long as it's close. Hopefully you find the disc. I'm interested in how it turned out.

Re: Die -cast cars

I will have to find my stash of HW cars and see how many Machs are in there. I have about three hundred or so in storage.. There has got to be at least one Mach in there. I haven't looked at them in a while. Does that say 1998 First edition on the yellow one on the left? If so, I might have that one. I like the orange one right below it too. Heck, what am I talking about, I like all of them. LOL

Re: Die -cast cars

Both the yellow and the orange cars were correct colors for the first year F.E. cars. The orange came out first and was produced for only a short time, bringing more $ the more common yellow car. I guess I'll have to get my Mach 1 HW's together for a family shot. Do you have any JL Machs? The 10the Anniv. car is an ARI Pace Car and has incredible detail. Also the latest Mach in the HW Classics series has Cobra Jet script on the hood next to the shaker.

That is really nice - almost exact replica of my first Mach 1 (I had black stripes) - can you link me to where I can purchase one?

Never mind - found it myself. Pricey - is it worth what you paid? Good detail?

Re: Die -cast cars

I think, the detail is awesome, it's worth it to me but it is pricey. I have the Boss 351 to go with it so it was an easy purchase to make for me.

Cool!!! Plus this guy is a Mach owner, might even be one of 'us'. He has a Resigtry logo on there. I give up, he definitly has the most toys, or at least the most Msutang toys...he wins...

Re: Die -cast cars

The newly redesigned Johnny Lightnings are out and I got the Boss 429 last night. It is be-u-ti-ful! Looks like a 1:1 car shrunk down to scale. It's grabber green w/white interior and they even did a bang up job on the Magnim 500s.
