send a PM to ACMECH. He put the Mach 1000 audio system in his Mach. Uses up a bit of trunk space but as far as I know he is a happy camper. Just put ACMECH in the search box and you will find his name and possibly his comments on the Mach 1000 installation

It runs about 1400.00, not worth it in my opinion.

I could of swore I read that the Mach 1000 system was not available for the Mach 1's. I guess that's just when ordering them...if you have the money I'm sure they can do anything you want . For the extra money though..I would get an aftermarket system.

Yeah there are aftermarket systems which would probably sound better for less money.

I have friends who have put great systems in their car, with subs and all, for less than the Mach1000 system.

I had the Mach 1000 sound system in my 02 GT, it sounded nice but left no trunk room whatsoever. I could barelt fit a duffle bag in there.
Once I bought my 04 Mach and listened to the system, the only difference was the bass levels.
All in all it's not worth the extra $.

The only reason I'd really want it would be for MP3 playing ability.

The Mach 460 is substantially better than it was in my 98 GT, but I was REALLY disappointed that it didn't play MP3s, especially when they were advertising Rangers and F150s that did!

Im not too impressed with 460 either, but like some others said going to the 1000 wont be worth the coin, find something aftermarket, mp3 and all amped up for the same money as the 1000, you'll be happy you did. someday I may change up, but for now Im gonna change some exhaust and listen to the music performed by Bassani..............

Ooooh Rockford Fosgate makes good systems.....

Is it possible to change out the head unit with an aftermarket one and keep all the speakers? I'm sure I'd need a wiring harness, but shouldn't that be it?

The speakers are the weakest link, though. Check with a good local installer. Mine recommended that the entire system be ripped out, or stay with the 460. I'll be content with the 460, at least for now!

For the 1400 I would go with an aftermarket system with a pop out DVD screen so I can play vid games

Yeah good call....RICER!

I'd spend the 1400 on some ground effects...and maybe some clear tail lights!

Back down killer. Take a ****ing joke.

And forgive me for saying so, but I can't think of a place in a Mustang to put a video screen that wouldn't look totally shitty. Steering wheel? In front of the A/C controls? Classy....

Ya dude that is NOT rice. And you dont have to be a jackass about it.

For 1400 you can do some much more. Im happy enough with the 460. I might add jsut a lil 10 inch sub for some bass.
