Re: New Project "R" thread
A good aftermarket K member is worth it, yes.
I am not sure if I will change it on "R" or not. My intent is to see what the car could have been like Stock if Ford had built it that way. This is why the car is built with 99% factory parts.

Re: New Project "R" thread
Enjoy what you have, you went through a lot of crap getting it done.
If anything happens, it's so easy to upgrade to a 5.4 it's silly. A literal bolt in.

Re: New Project "R" thread
Right now, depending on what car it's going into,
the exchange rate between Australia and USA, it's looking like about the 3500-4k range without the engine,of course.

Re: New Project "R" thread
Upper and lower intake, upper to lower intake gasket and O-rings,
modified coolant crossover tube, spacers and hardware, alternator bracket with spacers and hardware, throttle cable bracket is all in the basic kit. Also available will be modified engine mounts, exhaust manifolds or shorty headers, throttle body, and maybe some other stuff I can't remember right now. It will not contain fuel rail hold down brackets, as there are many combinations, and it would take too long to develop them all. Most of the cost is going to be for the intake manifolds, which are extremely hard to get, expensive, and seems to take forever to arrive from Australia. The last one I received took 10 weeks to get here. Normally, it takes about 2 weeks when they are available. Of the 5 kits I am currently assembling, 3 and possibly 4 are sold. It will only fit 99-01 or 03-04 32V heads, and is designed to use stock Mach 1 cooling hoses, throttle and cruise cables, wiring, etc. It will, however, fit 96-04 Mustangs.

Re: New Project "R" thread
Yes it will, but there is an intake port mismatch if you use the Navi heads.
If you buy the long block, use 03-04 Mach 1 heads (no port mismatch), you can use the Navi chains etc. timing cover, Mustang oil pan, stock Mach 1 harness, radiator hoses, heater hoses, etc. The added 50 CID is all in stroke, which = "grunt". Stock exhaust manifolds will work also with a minor mod. H pipe will need to be modded. Clutch, trans, 8 bolt flywheel all bolt in.

Re: New Project "R" thread
Windshield and rear glass installed today by Safelite.
Used OE type glass for that factory look. All glass is now installed in the car. Took her around the block for the first time sans the wind tunnel effect. All systems go.

Re: New Project "R" thread
A couple of shots of "R" and the Mach in the garage.
R looks the same, except now has glass and a rear view mirror.

Re: New Project "R" thread
I am installing a Tri-Ax shifter (T56) this weekend.
The stocker is pretty lame. I also got the comfort handle which moves the shifter closer to the driver.
