Cobra Jet Emblems On Shaker
So i was reading on wiki on mustangs, in 68 all cobra jets had an "R" in the VIN number. Is this enough to make it not posey i guess, i think the emblems look great but i havent gotten any because i thought it was because of the mach 1 cobra jet. Wat u guys think?

Re: Cobra Jet Emblems On Shaker
I like them. My car already had them on it when I bought it. When I see other mach's I think the shaker almost looks too plain without them. Thats just me though..

Build the car how You like it. Not how people on the internet like it

Re: Cobra Jet Emblems On Shaker
Yea supra i totally agree with you, i was reading about the emblems in another forum. They were saying the only mach 1's back in the 69-70s that had the shaker, were "R" code engines. Scott wanted them on our machs, and all the proof is there to back it up if anyone wants to know the resemblance. Im sold!

Re: Cobra Jet Emblems On Shaker
I bought mine with them on the shaker...then some toothless hick came up to me while pumping gas and said "Nice car man! Ohhh "cobra jet" that's a 429 right?"
I just kinda smirked, said thank you and said "Nooo 281 DOHC." By that time I had been wanting to take the emblems off, was just lasy...well that situation made me do it as soon as I got home. I can see why people want to have them on...just not for me. Especially since Ford came out with a new Cobra Jet.

Re: Cobra Jet Emblems On Shaker
Like others, mine had them when I bought the car. I looked at it as a n on issue since we do have the "R" code VIN and my motor now makes more ho then the original Cobra Jet did.
Agreed about plain without them, but the day I bought the car I took them off as they were not original equipment. However I could still see the adhesive spelling out cobra jet on the shaker dispute my best efforts. I was forced to either put them back on or repaint the shaker. TI put them back on and they have stayed. Bottom line is how cares what others think, it is your car. Once they start making your payments, then I would listen.

Re: Cobra Jet Emblems On Shaker
Oh the memories of the discussions in the past on this subject... Yes, I added them as soon as I could get them... I would do it again...

Re: Cobra Jet Emblems On Shaker
My car had them when I bought it. I think they look nice but it feels too much like a cobra emblem on a GT to me so I pulled them off. I like it without them.

Re: Cobra Jet Emblems On Shaker
LOL I think you could still put Cobra Jet on the reflector.
I put them on mine. Love em. I was told that Ford took them off to save a few bucks.

Re: Cobra Jet Emblems On Shaker
Funny, I was at the NPD Silver Springs Show this past weekend and I had people asking me what was the Cobra Jet package? Not sure if they were being smart azzes or just did not know.

Re: Cobra Jet Emblems On Shaker
LOL! Had a guy out last week to steam clean our carpets. He was just packing up his gear when I stopped in for lunch. He walks out in the garage, sees the Mach, and says "is it as fast as a 428 Cobra Jet?" I'm like, oh boy, here we go. I said, "no, it's not as fast, it's MUCH faster!" He said, "how can that be, it only has a little tiny V8 in it?" I just ended the conversation with one word, "technology."

Re: Cobra Jet Emblems On Shaker
I have them on mine and by also raising the shaker as described on one of the threads, it really stands out in addition to hood pins to tie in the whole look!!
