Changing the fuel filter, any video webnars?

I found the articles on how to change the fuel filter, but is there a good online video?

Where is the Schrader valve? I read you can release the pressure, but not sure where on the fuel rails that is located.

Also, instead of spreading gas in the engine, could you unhook the fuze for the fuel pump and run the car until it runs out of gas? Upside, no gas in the engine bay or on me under the car. Downsides?

Thanks y'all.

Re: Changing the fuel filter, any video webnars?

the schrader valve is on the pass side fuel rail, its got a screw on cap that looks a lot like a valve stem cap on your tires. Just get a couple paper towels/rags and push down on the valve using a small screw driver. If you push it down slowly itll just run out of the valve, it wont spray or anything and no significant volume will come out...probably not even a thimble full

trying to run it and pulling the fuse for the pumps wont keep you from spilling gas when you unhook the filter and as the filter itself holds some gas.

Just make sure you have the fuel line removal tool

im not aware of any videos

Get you a small oil change tub to catch the gas and put the old filter in. Also do your self a favor and put on a pair of safety goggles, fuel in the eyes sucks.

yeah I dont even bother with releasing the pressure cuz fuels is gonna leak anyway. Like aid dont lay directly underneath wear saftey glass and last but MOST important. GET THE RIGHT TOOL!. Dont mess around with the plastic tool.
Get the METAL one that has 2 different sizes and splits and half like scissors. !!

Removing the gas cap helps release some pressure as well. Not much but it helps

I've taken a fuel blast to the ear before. I flushed it with water but it sealed up. I couldn't hear a thing by the next day. Off to the doctor for a flush...was good as new. Lol

Sometimes I just take it to the shop for pain in the a$$ things like that. I bring the filter and they charge me 10 bucks. Well worth it.

I work for a dealer and NEVER relief pressure, from Mustangs to Focuses to Diesels, just wear safety glasses and position yourself away from the filter and you're fine. +1 on those scissor metal clips, I use them at work and LOVE them, just need to buy the oil line fitting one for trannys :/
