Help! Fan wont shut off.

Today I installed a new cooling fan. Its a factory stock fan. I began adding coolant and burping the system. At first the fan is turning on and off like normal. But then the fan came on and went high speed. I paniced thinking the car is overheating and imediately turned it off. The fan continued to run for 2 hours. I have to disconnect the battery to stop it. All fuses and relays appear to be fine.

Why the **** is it doing this??????

Did your temperature gauge register high in the instrument cluster? Also, (I know this sounds like a dumb question) did you add all of the coolant back into the system and remove the air?

Re: Help! Fan wont shut off.

Searched some more and found that the fans stayimg on points to a failed relay in the ccrm. Going to look into it tomorrow.

No was in the middle of burping the system when this happened. The needle was in the middle. I figured the engine was hot but with air still in the system the needle wouldnt read correctly.

I dont think that air in the system causes the needle to read incorrectly; air in the system will definitely make the engine overheat, thus making the needle move past mid-range....but not necessarily read incorrectly.

Re: Help! Fan wont shut off.

Got it. I was able to finish burping the system. The problem Im having is that the fan doesnt turn off.

The fan was working normal, then went highspeed. When I turned the car off, it immediately went back to low speed and now continues to run in this state unless I disconnect the battery.

From what I gather after a lot of searching, the CCRM failed and is not switching the fan off.

Re: Help! Fan wont shut off.

Update:

Good news. It turns out the problem was at the ccrm. The harness was not fully connected. The module is not bad. I cleaned the connectors and madr sure to plug it in fully. Everything seems to be working normal so far.

Re: Help! Fan wont shut off.

I have opposite issue..I had Lo but no high, bought new Ford ccrm, now have hi and no lo speed...I changed resistor and 30 A fuse in the solo holder under hood passenger side..no lo? Does the fuse holder have constant power when key on or only when ecm sends signal to turn fan on at lo temp setting in my tune? Sorry for hijack, easier to ask than new thread..thanks.
