Strange adjustable shocks/struts

I've always put these in the category of drag racing only. After discussing it with a few others, I hear they are specific for drag racing. Is this true? Are they an all-around shock/strut that can be adjusted to suit the desired use? I'm planning to upgrade from my Koni STR.T's and want to make sure I'm not missing a good option.

If you're a drag racer then get them. If not then do something else. What's the purpose of the car?

Basically street with a few visits to the drag strip yearly for fun. I want a better ride, but I don't want to lose the handling capability it currently has. I have Eibach Sportlines.

They are way better than with the stock shocks/struts, but the stockers were likely shot. I feel like I can get a better ride with a better set of shocks/struts. At least that is the hope lol.
