Re: fr 500 install tips.

From what I can remember from my install you will have to modify your throttle cable bracket, EGR, and tap into your wiring harness for the runner control other than that, it's pretty straight forward Careful with the gaskets. Ford does not make them anymore.

Re: fr 500 install tips.

You will need a 96-98 IAC and also a tube to connect it to the inlet tube (post maf). A 96-98 TB is also required as is a 96-98 throttle cable which is hard to find and expensive.

If using this with stock cams/shortblock the powerband will not be one that is desireable; may increase peak power but midrange hp and tq will suffer. Oh, an alternator bracket is also needed as well as an intake tube.

IMO, this intake is only good for engines that see RPMs in excess of 7000.

sorry to go off track - you ever see how these work with a centrifugal or are they not right for that either?

They are good for power above 7000rpm when n/a or with a centri. They would work better with a turbo if peak RPM is 7000 or below but still not as good as a stock intake.
