Re: Sub enclosure

I used my spare tire spot and converted that to an enclosure. Ill post a few pics. I will have to get a completed pic and post later when it is light outside. I put a emergency kit and a portable pump in the car for flats so i am not totally screwed if i pic up a nail. Hope it sparks some ideas for you. The finished product has a Kicker amp and a carpeted trim out around the sub with a grill.. The sub is from a Mach 1000 setup. Dual coil and I have it bridged, box is air tight.

Re: Sub enclosure

I ended up just buying 2 single 12" sub boxes from a local audio store (off the shelf, nothing custom). I took out my Mach audio system so the amp tray is gone allowing these to fit. It takes a little wiggling but they can be taken in and out to get to the spare etc...

I picked up a prefab ported kicker box with 2comp r 12's but it didn't fit....so I pulled the subs from the box,and got a b box from someone that's slot ported, threw the one 12" in it and it hits, but not as hard as I like..my fosgate prime r500 makes 650rms at 2ohms,but this sub is 4ohm.so I get half that power maybe....all the shops in Boise want 350-600 for a box made for the car....thats a ton for a box...there is a chance I might sell the mach. It only has 130,000 on the clock and I believe there is only 179 of these like mine....
