Those who have upgraded sound systems come on in.

So. Been looking at upgrading and replacing the old Mach460 gear. Have had a nice Kenwood headunit for a number of years but am seriously looking at upgrading to a single 5 channel with separates up front probably the same in the rear (vs a coaxial set) and probably a bass tube. May go to a 4 channel and do a powered tube Later.

Just looking for thoughts and suggestions. I would just replace the factory speakers but as we all know fords great idea of 8ohm woofers/amp makes the options kinda slim.

Was thinking a single JL audio 4 channel and 5.25 separates up front and 6.5 for the rear deck. (Focal or MB Quart)

Been away from this part of the car hobby a long time so any input is appreciated

Thanks in advance...

Re: Those who have upgraded sound systems come on in.

Id highly recommend a newer head unit with apple car play/anroid auto, really brings it out of the stone age. Its a shame the way they set up these amps or you could just run a new alpine with the amp that goes on the back of the head unit.

We gutted the stock system on mine, including the amp rack etc...Circuit breaker on the firewall, power wire to the rear seat well to a fused distribution block. MB Quart separates up front with a super high tech plastic paint tray to make mounting adapters on the tweeters. MBQ 6.5s in the back. JL 300/4 for the speakers and 500/1 for 2 12" subs. The 12's fit in pre made boxes with the rack gone.
