Cruise on Central

October 10th is the annual ? Cruise on Central. The flyer says it starts at 1:00pm and goes until 9:00pm. Ground zero is Park Central Mall, but you need to get there early if you want to find a place to park.
Is anyone interested in meeting up there??

Re: Cruise on Central

Howdy,
I just found out about it Saturday night when I was handed a flyer up at 83rd Ave. I would consider it.

Re: Cruise on Central

If I get a new battery in my Mach by then I'll try to give her a bath and make it out. Would be nice to drive her again for the first time in over a month. But no promises.......

Re: Cruise on Central

One of the sponsors, a lady who owns a t-shirt shop on Bell Rd, said that the reason for the 1pm start time is because that's when the hired police will begin patrolling the Park Central parking lot. Her insurance begins then.

But people in the group agreed that if you wait until 1pm to gather a group you will not be able to park together. Also, there is a $5 fee to park in that lot. It will go to traffic control, insurance, etc.

A few years ago there was a predetermined time when "saving" a parking spot for a friend ended. When that time came it bacame first come first served. Things got a little tense when small groups sitting in their lawn chairs refused to move.

I checked Google for a Cruise on Central Ave. web site for rules but only found photography companies that took photos.

If we plan on parking together we also need to plan on an "all dayer" with no later than a 1pm meet-up time scheduled. This isn't to say that we couldn't show up solo later on.

Re: Cruise on Central

Hey Rick and friends, I will be going down there around 1:00 or 2:00 but I'll be coming from Surprise. I'll be meeting a few friends there who have hot rod trucks and plan on meeting at Chris Town. Lets swap cell phone #s so we can meet up.

Re: Cruise on Central

I have to meet a wood floor contractor at North High at 7am (11th Street and Thomas). I'll take the Mach and meet you at Park Central. I have no idea what time we will be done at the school so I'll just have to call.
