Drive Shaft

I just purchased a new drive shaft to help with the vibration in the drive train from the 4:10 gears. Does anyone know what to torque the bolts down to?

Re: Drive Shaft

I have 4.10 gears and didn't know about a side affect being drivetrain vibration, is this common?? I kept the big, heavy thingy hanging under the rear gear housing..is that why I don't have any vibration issues with a stock driveshaft??

I've seen guys loosen and rotate their driveshaft a 1/4 turn to reduce vibration.

How you like the 4.30's?? I wonder with the P1 since I will probably update everything with 31's, should I just take the plunge since car may see 100 miles a month of backwoods country, Chevy hunting roads. That seems weird with rotating driveshaft since it would seem like it is still just spinning, but already learned our cars don't seem to follow a set script.Happy T-giving everyone.

The 4.30's work very well, but I plan to go with cams & a small shot of spray. Even the way it is now (basically just bolt ons & a little lighter) it seems to need just a little more gear. 26" tire

Re: Drive Shaft

That big ole weight under the differential aka moose nuts from we were told many years ago was specifically designed to dampen vibrations with the 3.55 gear set and does nothing once you swap gears.

Remove as it is just dead weight.

Did you just recently install it? I've heard of guys rotating the driveshaft a 1/4 turn and reconnect to try and shift the imbalance to get it to stop.
