Does anybody else have this happen to them...

...today in heavy traffic (Bethesda, MD) driving to work, I'm mmob driving in the left lane on a 3 lane road as I pull up on this modded WRX (non-Sti) and when he sees me he starts going crazy showing me his awesome blow-off valve and sideways exhaust, man it was tyte. Anywho he starts reving more, goosing it, he almost hit the car right in front of him just cause I was next to him. I just sorta gave him the look and proceeded to turn left off into my office building. But before I did I was able to give him a quick sampling of the 4v DOHC and Magnapacks.

Not that I'm a big street racer or anything but **** these are the same kids who when next to u at a stoplight or open road on the freeway just kinda hang back with their tail tucked between their legs. I don't get it.

It is kind of like the kid from High School everyone hated. They were big and tough and talked a good game while "protected" at school. But for as tough as they were in the classroom you could never get to meet you anywhere after school so you could hand him a beating.

I get a few doing that, I'm not a street racer so most of the times I just laugh at them.....

I've done that a couple times as well, makes them angry like hitting a bees nest with a stick.

Re: Does anybody else have this happen to them...

Something similar happened to me with a Turbo G35 coupe. Only difference was there was no traffic whatsoever. I put 2-3 car lengths on him just going from 3rd gear. After that he kept getting next to me revving it just to show off the blow off valve trying to get me to go AGAIN. I then stole a line from Roy on this forum and said "How many times do you want to lose?" He drove away after that

Cuh-lassic.

Probably couldn't figure out why his boosted G35 couldn't hang with a little N/A V8.

Re: Does anybody else have this happen to them...

Usually no one will mess with me during the daylight hours, I guess the shaker scoop scares them off. At night it’s a different story, I've had everything from a Porsche to another Mustang try and race me. The only explanation for this might be that at night other motorist can’t tell the difference between a Mach 1 and a base line GT. Usually if you look at the other driver and give them a petty golf clap it will hurt their feelings and they will leave you alone.
