Staggered Tire Recomendations

Ok, I just ordered some 18x9 rims and are trying to decide the tire size to go with.

Keep in mind that I have lowered my Mach just over an inch.

I have been toying with different ideas.

245/40/18 in front
265/40/18 in back

245/40/18 in front
275/40/18 in back

255/40/18 in front
275/40/18 in back

Those are the different options that I have priced out, however if you have different suggestions, please offer them up. When it comes to some of the staggered setups and lowered/larger tires, anything besides OEM starts to get muddy for me.

Thanks in Advance!!!

Re: Staggered Tire Recomendations

I would say go with the middle combo, smallest fronts and largest rears

I was kind of leaning towards that one as well, however was also thinking that putting 255/40/18's up front would give better traction in corners...

Not sure if it will make that much of a difference or not.

probably wont make a huge difference either way honestly, if anything get the larger front because it looks meaner haha but also think wider is also added weight for basically no reason.

The car handles better with a square tire setup.

So do I, but the Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas I've been running (for years) are now discontinued in that size.

What brand / model tire do you run?

I'm leaning toward the BF Goodrich G-Force Sport Comp 2 (not A/S) - I don't want to spend more than about $225 per tire, so that rules out MPSS's, etc. I don't care about road noise, dry handing is the most important, but they can't suck in the wet.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

What ever happened to Vredetsiun? Best tires for the front I've ever had? I used to run 275's on the front and disappointing 315's on the rear. Now the'r'e like removed from the market. Currently running Sumitomo HTRZ111 on the front which work great, and 315 Nitto 555 on the rear which are OK in the the twistdes but are garbage off the line.

Re: Staggered Tire Recomendations

I picked up some continentals 18x9 and 18x10; they are the best tire set I have yet to use. Super quiet on the rode and stick better than Nittos. Ride quality is frankly amazing.

According to my friend who owns Wheel Replicas the company just decided not to stay in this market.
I have them on the front of my car now. 255/40/18's and had to go to another brand on the back when I lost one of my 295's in the rear and went to replace it...

next set i do will probably be 275's all the way around but not sure on the brand yet...
