Blew my motor

My stock 25k mile mach1 motor is all over the road 2 blocks from my house. oil and smoke came out from everywhere. I thought i had a head tick, brought it to my friends house. He said it was maybe a pulley or an accessory. Ended it being my bottom end. Cause on the way home it started to sound like a tin can being shaking around with rocks in it. then BOOM.

Re: Blew my motor

hmm. can you tell anything from visual inspection? any windows in the block? parts on the road? that pretty rare for a bottom end to just let go with those mods.

it was nothing you did. it was a factory imperfection. sounds like a rod let go.

Good idea to add some more cubes while im down there. Give me more info on these two options. I'm getting a price from a shop out in long island over the phone. I won't know till after the weekend the full extent of the damage but i have an idea, and a game-plan.

I found someone who rolled their mach1, 14k miles on it. He wants 4,200 for motor w/trans. If i decide to go with another stock.

Sorry for the trouble but it's not a good idea to drive a car that's making noises from anywhere, especially the motor. The repair cost is much lower if it keeps all the parts in the crankcase.

Ill throw you a pm when i get home. Sometime tmrw afternoon. My cell is dead at the moment. I live close to CT, im 5mins from the TZ bridge. Well definity get into more detail when i pm you.

The reason why im not droping money into it asap is cause my father retired from the car business. He is making some phone calls to friends for me, see what strings he can pull or work out. Im checking out every angle. Im pricing out going back to stock, cause if it turns out to be not much more then going aftermarket. Ill gadly spend the extra money and go big. Get a nice setup for nice big blower.

I always been using the ford oil filter and mobil1 fully synthetic 10w30, but havent been doing the changes myself. I should have records of all my service. I did most of them at Ford, including some warrenty work, tune ups. And they replaced my flywheel, clutch and everything esle when my clutch cable snapped on me. Its on a street tire, never really do anything out of the normal. I mean its a mustang of course you row through the gears once in a while.

that 10w-30 oil wasnt helpin, its heavier than the required 5w-20, that might have caused it
