Magnapack weld in

Talked to a friend about welding in new mufflers. I'm thinking about going with the Magnapacks. Everything else will be stock exhaust. He said no issue making them fit. The only thing I am wondering, are there any sound clips of this setup? Haven't found one yet. All the videos seem to be cat back or some different H or X pipe.

Re: Magnapack weld in

Unfortunately, I don't have videos, but I thought an opinion is better than nothing. My last car had Magnapacks that were dumped before the rear axle for about a week before I sold the car. I loved them, but loved them more at WOT. Borla Stingers are still my #1 choice, but these are easily second. Hope you find what you're looking for, sorry I could't help any more than this.

Re: Magnapack weld in

With a stock h pipe with all the cats in place, it'll sound good. Get greedy and go looking for more power with an aftermarket pipe and they'll get blatty on you. Even a high flow catted pipe is too much for a glass pack if you want it to sound clean. That's my opinion having ran them with a catted x and also an off-road x. Some people like that clapping wet fart sound though, so...it's whatever sounds good to your ears.

I like this Bullitt with stock h and magnapacks. https://youtu.be/sXridyI2FnA

Made a call to performance peddler. They actually offered the entire cat back system with Magnapacks for $465. Didn't think that was bad at all. The packs themselves around $120/130 shipped. Decisions decisions....

Re: Magnapack weld in

Just bought the Magnapack cat back system. Probably be better in the long run. I really need to stay off these sites, too many ideas...

Re: Magnapack weld in

If what you wanted was a nice growl and a bit of power, you did right by your Mach 1. Post a vid when you get it on the car!

I'll echo TRbetngu on the borla exhaust, they sound great. That's what I have on mine and love it. Hopefully you'll be happy with what you got.

Re: Magnapack weld in

You should like the Magnapacks with a stock midpipe. I started out with just the Magnapacks catback, it sounded all right, but I needed it louder. So a couple months later I got a catted Bassani midpipe. Oh yeaaaaaaah! The only time it might sound farty is if you stomp on it in the wrong rpm and gear. I'm not a fan of offroad pipes at all.

Re: Magnapack weld in

Magnapacks are amazing. Have had mine on for about 8-9 years or so.

Good choice!

What mine sound like with an offroad x-pipe. I remember this day. Was deafening in that shop.
