Re: New Old Mustang for sale

Dynacon has been selling Mustang and Camaro body shells for a few years now. They also offer 1967, 1968, 1969 and 1970 Mustang shells as well.

Here's the one I'd prolly build:

Re: New Old Mustang for sale

$15+ large for shell, hmmm. Wonder what kind of VIN they have?
Think I'll stick the newer stuff, that classic restoration is still a boatload more money than I wanna spend on a car.

If you already had one but was rusty this would be a great approach, Just remove everything from old and bolt into new.

^^ What I was thinking, about the VIN thing. I was wondering how that would work, like would the car be palatable? I'd rather buy an old junker, restore it, and have a real classic instead of a new fake one lol.

You just have to go thru the DMV to get a VIN registered. The company making them can give it a number.

Theres a company in NC, Bluescreek I think that makes 67-69 camaros, some novas and not sure what else. By the time you get the running gear under one of them, you re in it $45-$70k easy.

As far as rebuilding an old one, depends on what you want. Most of the sheet metal now is made in Taiwan and is thin as paper. Personally, for $50k I would prefer a real old one re-done. But I can see where people go the new old route too.

Re: New Old Mustang for sale

Most hassle free thing to do would be to get a donor car for the vin
then go register the doner then just use that vin.....

all ya need is something with a firewall and a title.

Why do ya ll think its a hassle? The company making them gives the car a title and a vin #. You just register it with the DMV like you would any other car.

http://classicautomotiverestoration....amaro.html#FAQ

Do that with a donor car and tag will get you in trouble.

Re: New Old Mustang for sale

This is same company that built the 67 that Classic Design did for SEMA a few year back.
the CDC FLASHBACK

http://www.classicdesignconcepts.com...g2_itemId=2216

NY is a real stickler on KIT type cars, it might go thru fine with a VIN from the factory. But I know a buddy built a Cobra kit and you have to go thru a lot of red tape, have all the receipts, have the State Police check every light, etc.. for DOT approval, a real hassle.
