Re: 2018 Plans for your car.

Plan on going the forced induction route this year.

- P-1X Procharger Kit & Dyno Tune
- Kooks Long Tube Headers & Catted X-Pipe
- Replace Rear Tires with Nitto NT555 G2s

Next year, I'll focus on aesthetics (fresh paint job, replace worn out plastic parts, and Mach 1 vinyl decals). Bigger brakes to help slow down the Mach.

Re: 2018 Plans for your car.

First things first....got a spot in the garage cleared out to park it. I have a few maintenance items on the list....new rotors and pads; and my battery cable posts have finally bit the dust....need to replace those.

Would love to get my hands on some AFS deep dish 17's....and it needs a paint job bad. Been putting it off for a while, but now that I've got dedicated garage space, I need to stop putting it off.

I am very happy with the Nitto G2’s. Like the tire a lot

Yeah, the G2's are a pretty good tire as far as the balance between performance, durability, and affordability. I have them on the front wheel, but ended up going with the 1st Gen NT555s in the rear due to a great deal on price. I have to replace the rear tires now, because of the damage from the fenders rubbing the tires when I lowered the car with Eibach Sportlines. I just recently done the rear fenders rolled, so that shouldn't be an issue anymore.

I opted to go back to a 9” wheel in the rear and am running 275/35r18’s because I don’t want to roll the quarter wheelhouse lip. Fought the tire cut down issue on a couple tires...decided to take the easy way out. Plus I drive mine on the street mostly so I can rotate...

Im not happy at all the starter access and ground clearance with my kooks for whatever thats worth. Ive got a tubular K member and changing a starter would still be a real tough chore with these things

Re: 2018 Plans for your car.

Get this 2001 Bullitt fuel door paint matched, the fasteners that go around it polished, and get it installed. Had it in a box for over a year. Time to get it done.

Once temps get above 70°, install this amber fog light tint

Paint and install the steeda wiper delete caps

Repair passenger side skirt. Hit a rock and it broke that plastic tab underneath that attaches it to the pinch weld. Guess im just going to run a self-tapping sheet metal screw through it...dont know any other way to do it

Install this H3R performance Halon fire extinguisher

Probably have to replace front drive snout bearings on the blower. I think one is going bad.

Is there another brand of headers/X-pipe combo that you would recommend with better clearance? I already have a feeling that I'm going to have clearance issue since my car has Eibach Sportlines.

If I was gonna do it again I’d look into ARH. I’ve also heard great things about figment and ground clearance from Mack headers, idnjust get them coated first. Also I have a t56 so the bellhousing is removable and I don’t have to worry about pass side clearance when pulling the trans compared to a 3650

Re-paint

That t-56 is one of those pipe dreams as well...

Re: 2018 Plans for your car.

Just bought mine over New Year's weekend, after drooling over the Machs for years. It was a one-owner car, ordered new in the summer of '02, and it was well cared for. Having said that, it did have some issues that are common with a 15 year old car. So, 2018 will be spent getting mine back to original condition again.

- I just got it home from the body shop. They repainted the hood, front bumper cover, and blended the two front fenders. This was needed because rock chips had obliterated the front of the car.

- Passenger headlight is full of water so that'll get replaced soon.

- Driver side fog light needs to be cleaned or replaced...it's much dimmer than the passenger side, even with two new matching bulbs in them.

- I changed the plugs and checked that all service was up to date.

- I did go ahead and add an O/R H-pipe because I figured the cats were likely pretty dirty inside and I wanted to make the car breathe better again. While I was under there, I installed a Ford Racing aluminum driveshaft which killed two birds with one stone by replacing the stock U-joints which had 129,000 on them.

- My focus now is turning to the interior. The driver seat bolster is torn from years of abrasion getting in and out of this low-sitting car. The headliner is starting to slightly peel at the windshield. I'll be working on these things next, plus the car needs a thorough vaccum/cleaning.

- The windows are still factory but I'll likely tint them soon to help protect the interior in the hot summer sun this year. I'm hoping that this is the last year the car will spend outdoors. I'll have it in the garage beginning this coming fall.

After that, I'll just keep it serviced religiously, drive it to shows all over Kentucky, and pray that I never see that 4V knock that signals death for these engines around this mileage I'm at.

do you mind sharing what you paid for the paint work?

also with the fog lights - they sell ones with clear lenses that look like the head lights, Id highly recommend doing that for the upgrade. It looks better and more light
