A day that will live in infamy...
I kinda feel bad that I didn't post this until late in the day, but I'd feel worse if I didn't point out the date and the historical impact at all. I think we all know what Dec. 7th means, and I really want to take the time to thank all of those who serve now in our armed forces, or have served.
I especially want to especially thank those who served in WWII. I try to make a point of thanking any of those brave souls who did when I see them either in the store I work in or on the street. Most will wear a cap or something to indicate their service, and they more than deserve to wear those items with great pride, as do any of our vets of all conflicts they were involved in. Thank you all. God bless you for what you've done and what you represent. You are appreciated.

Re: A day that will live in infamy...
I remembered just a few hours ago what today was because I just happened to look at the date on my cell phone. I had my moment of silence then...

Re: A day that will live in infamy...
+1 man, I think about it each and every year when 12-7 rolls in. Saw my wifes grandfather just tonight, he is a WW2 vet, pacific theater. He is suffering from Alzheimers now and not really aware of much, but I call him sir every time I see him. I look up to all who have served, but for some reason I hold those men from WW2 in the highest of the highest regard....God bless and thank you!!

Re: A day that will live in infamy...
I lose sight of what our soldiers do for us on a daily basis and when I'm reminded of what they give and how they give it I feel terrible for forgetting it.
Sorry boys, yall deserve all of our respect

I agree and thanx for posting it up. There certain times and dates that none of us can afford to forget and this is one of them.

Re: A day that will live in infamy...
Right on. My grandpa was too young to fight. He had two brothers in Europe and 1 in the Pacific and all three made it through without a scratch.
A generation of Heros to be sure. On a lighter note, it's my girlfriends birthday and it sure makes it alot easier to remember. |

Re: A day that will live in infamy...
It's also my mom's birthday!!! But she was not born in 1941 (earlier).
My wife's birthday is D-day 6 June, but not 1944 (much later). My dad was in the Army and had been in the Pacific (HI and PI) since 1939. He was injuried in a construction accident which happened in PI and was recovering in a hospital in Australia. No telling what would have been had he not been injuried. It's a special day for the survivors and a great opportunity to honor all our WWII vets.

Well said. We can't thank our service people enough for all they do to keep us safe and free. Some dates in our history should never be forgotten. We can never thank them enough.

Re: A day that will live in infamy...
This day depresses me more and more each year. I used to call my grandfather every year and talk to him for a bit about the war. It'll be 4 years next year that I lost him, and I miss him still

Re: A day that will live in infamy...
My wife and I just visited Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona this May. Nothing like standing there in person to really appreciate it all. Very moving experience. We also got to tour the USS Missouri (where the Japanese surrendered). Awsome trip............go if you can!

Two more things that made our trip cool..................
The mach 1 cop car we saw and the Mustang convertable (brand new) that we rented.
