Help

I need help. This morning I woke up and got into my car. I notice my theft light wouldn't stop blinking, even after I started it. I turned the car off and on and theft light turned off, but car was hesitant on starting. I tried to get on it while driving, but under heavy acceleration my rpms would drop to zero. It seemed like my car shut off, but it didn't. Once my speed would slow down my rpms would go back up. I drove it to do some errands and during driving my rpms would shoot all over the place and seemed like it was misfiring so I decided to go home. Car turned off on me twice, but I was able to start it up again. Then one light before my house my car shut off at a red light and doesn't crank over. I put it in park and then I tried to put it in neutral to push it, but my brake pedal and shifter are stuck. I managed to get the shifter in neutral and pushed it home. But now my car wont turn on at all and my keys won't come out of the ignition. I don't know what to do now...oh, and I plugged in an old predator tuner and a trouble code p1260 came up

Re: Help

A quick google search found this.

This is mostly caused because I have a bad transponder in both ignition keys(wouldn't start with both factory keys), a bad transceiver ring in the column/ignition switch, or a bad diode in the PCM

Me too. Batteries do weird things to these cars when they go bad.

Re: Help

Rule # 1 Disconnect Battery, wait 5 to 10 minutes, reconnect.

Report back, now what happens ???

As for your code....

P1260 FORD - Theft Detected - Vehicle Immobilized

Possible causes
- Incorrectly programmed Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
- Incorrectly programmed Instrument Cluster (IC) or Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC)
- Previous theft condition
- Anti-theft system concern

When is the code detected?
The Engine Control Module (ECM) has received a signal from the Anti-Theft system that a violation has occurred

Possible symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Start/Stall or Crank/No Start

The P1260 code can be set if the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) has determined a theft condition existed and the engine is disabled or an engine start was attempted using a non-PATS key. This Detected Trouble Code (DTC) is a good indicator to check the PATS for DTCs. This DTC can also be set when a new Instrument Cluster (IC), Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) or Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is installed without correctly programming either module even if the vehicle is not equipped with PATS.
