Cutting Stock Springs

I Wanted To Lower My Mach Like Maybe Just Half An Inch But Don't Want To Spend 200 On Some New Springs. I Was Thinking Of Just Cutting Half A Spring Off The Coil. Has Anybody Ever Done This? I Heard Someone Did It And It Came Out Perfect. They Didn't Even Need Camber Plates.

Re: Cutting Stock Springs

when looking straight down at the spring when it is standing up. make a cross on the top so it is even. cut about 2/3's of the spring.

I would suggest 1/2 coil first and let the car settle for a week.

Re: Cutting Stock Springs

I think you should heat shrink them, or buy replacement springs.I learned along time ago from my lowrider friends that cutting the spring makes for a rough ride..better to lightly heat the spring and reduce the coils resistance. My opinion..

Re: Cutting Stock Springs

I cut 1 and 1/8 coil on mine. I already had CC plates before that. So IDK if you would need them after my drop. My fender to tire gap is two finger tight. I had Eibach Sportlines but they did not drop far enough for me.

Re: Cutting Stock Springs

i cut a full coil off mine, and i can just barely get two fingers betwwen the tire and fender front and rear. over bumps it's a little more harsh, but it's free. haven't checked alignment, tires are wearing fine, only drive the car a few times a month tho
