Problem with Tach Install

Where do I connect the white wire? Everything else works (Rpm's, shift light), but the cobalt back lighting doesn't work. Can somebody help?

i believe you will have to tap into the cam position senor because it provides rpm to PCM, which inturn sends a signal to the instrument cluster.

Re: Problem with Tach Install

I called Autometer, and they said that I need to attach the white wire to a headlight wire. He said that will make the backlighting of the Tach come on with the headlights. Can somebody help me on what headlight wire to use?

Thank You

huh why would you tap into the cps with a wire for the lighting of the gauge?

to the OP you can tap into the dimmer circuit in the fuse panel or tap into the dimmer whire behind the cluster. do a search over on stangnet as there numerous threads that have the info you need. I forget the color of the wire you need to tap into.

edit: i just talked to a buddy of mine and he says he used a add a circuit on fuse #37 in the fuse block. lights come on when he turns his lights on and dims with all the others as well.
