Specific question about nos

It would be relatively safe to run a 75 hp shot on a stock motor correct. But what could I do to make it extra extra safe for relatively low work. And another thing, are the tuning devices that come with Nos kits very effective. are they good enough to use with out getting a dyno tune with 75 hp shot? If not then would it be ok with a 50 hp shot?

Cool Re: Specific question about nos

NOS is not safe and one detonation and your rods go flying! Many here will say its great till they loose and engine.

Re: Specific question about nos

From what I have read, I feel a 75 shot would be fine on a stock motor. And I am not a fan of the juice, but I am getting there. Keep in mind that anything could and probably has happened on someone else car that caused a loss of a motor and it could happen to you as well.

Simply put, NOS is the cheapest way to gain power period. BUT, remember that you end up paying to play, so dont get mad if you should loose your motor because you added a lot more power to the motor than the rods were designed to take.

I would not run nitrous without ensuring your a/f is below 11.0. Which means you need a wet kit with all the goodies, a wideband guage and a handheld tuner to set the airfuel at WOT for a 100 shot. Once all installed have a tuner dial it in for you then from then on you can adjust it yourself depending upon condtions and shot.

Re: Specific question about nos

even a 100 shot is perfectly safe on a stock motor there are a few guys on here that have run 100s of bottles through a 125 to 150 shot on stock motors, like anything else its in the tune, tune safely for your shot and have 3 firing parameters ie: wot switch, window switch, and fpss, and youll be fine respect what your playing with and dont get greedy and youll be able to have lots of fun safely

Re: Specific question about nos

How about if i got stronger rods and better pistons I mean what can I do to my motor to make it extra strong and ready. The tune is important I understand I'll probabvly need help from that from some friends, but in the mean time what stronger parts could I get for my motor to make it even extra safe?

If you wanna just blow some $$$$$, just PayPal me $5000 for my backup Powerglide!
I will probably want to bump it up eventually Might as well make it safer now.

Re: Specific question about nos

Does it piss any one else off when people call it NOS.....god d@mnit NOS stands for nitrous oxide systems, the company!.....and you can blow your motor with any power adder just as equally

Re: Specific question about nos

Make sure when you tune the car you PULL 2* OF TIMING FOR EVERY 50 SHOT OF NITRIOUS. DUDE I WOULD PULL 4* OF TIMING FROM THE TOP.
