Talking Looking at longtubes

according to greg if i want good longtubes i should look to spend 700+ on them,

however i was curious about some brands i found

i know he had bbk on his old gt and never mentioned any issues with them and a guy he knew had pacesetter on his camaro

so my question is could you guys please look at these two i found and let me know if they would be good choices and if so which would be the best choice out of the two or give me an idea on other brands that would be good but with a reasonable price tag

BBK

Pacesetter

Re: Looking at longtubes

I have this combo, Mac ceramic coated longtubes and midpipe and I love them! Fit and look great, make good power, and reasonable priced.

Re: Looking at longtubes

Look around for a set of used headers that are in good shape and save yourself some money (thats what I did). There are plenty of used sets out there now that the new edge mustangs have some years on them. If you are patient you can find a really good deal.

I got MAC Longtubes used off of a fellow member and modified my existing MAC Prochamber to accept longtubes rather than the shorties it was intended for. With my Borla exhaust, it sounds downright scary and they look as good today as they did the day I picked them up.

Re: Looking at longtubes

I'd go with the BBK longtubes. Had a pair on my 99 gt and they fit and sounded great. I just bought a chrome set for my mach for $380 shipped from a dealer on corral.net I think the ceramics were like $490.

Re: Looking at longtubes

i was gonna buy the Mac's but everywhere i went they were on back order. so I went with pacesetter LT's and they fit great and they def make the car sound alot better. ill be getting dyno'd next week to see the gains. i feel that mac/pacesetter/ and BBK are all good brands to go with.

Cool, but when u need to do tranny work....is it more of a hassle with the Mac LT's? I want some and will end up going with American racing for that reason. I would love to save a penny on the macs, but once i put them on, I dont want to do them again if they decide to rust or something happens to my trans. Macs are much better than before and have awesome ground clearence...

Re: Looking at longtubes

BTW, you can find BBK's cheaper than in that ebay ad.
