help with tires

My Mach 1 is procharged and Im looking for a set of tires for the street. I have the stock tires on it now and they just spin like crazy. I have a set of slicks for the track so thats not exactly what im looking for, I'm looking for something that will hook up if a romp it from a roll and not just spin like no tomorrow. I have looked at the BGF g-force, Mickey tompson ET's, and the Nitto's, I could use some good feed back.

Re: help with tires

Love my GForce, great all around road tire, good wear, nice handling, no real spin, but don't drive it in bad weather.

Re: help with tires

Thanks. Im going to have a 10.5 inch rim on the mach when i purchase the tires. The mach is used for car shows so I try to avoid bad weather as much as possible.

I pulled my original Goodyears and replaced with Potenza RE750's. WOW, what a difference. Fantastic road manners and adhesion, no tread noise, and best of all, they were on closeout. Ptenza is replacing them with a new tread style, but these are awsome. If you can still find them, dealers will deal. I got four for $85 each mounted and balanced, then grabbed the last 2 in St. Louis for $20 a piece as back-ups. These are not for snow, but awsome on wet roads. Good luck with your search

Re: help with tires

I used nitto's 555r's on my 10.5's and they performed really well all summer. even in heavy rain, I never lost traction. Just depends on how you drive I guess.

Re: help with tires

Nitto ftw.

I have not tryed the 555r but my buddy did and he loved them. They do not last long though.

I run the regular 555's and they hook GREAT and are known to last.. so its best of both worlds plus its CHEAP in comparison to the bfg's

good luck

Re: help with tires

3+ years on Nitto 555r's here. No complaints, but I haven't been to the track or driven them in the rain, but good traction for the street and not so sticky that they wear out too fast. Just my HO.

Nitto NT05's is what I want to try. I've had the Goodyear F1 GS-D3's and they are awesome for dry and wet summer traction. Virtually no road noise either.

Re: help with tires

i use Toyo Proxes TQ's they are meaty, quiet, hook when you want them too, and are the longest lasting drag radials i have seen, have just under 3,000 miles on mine and hardly any wear

Re: help with tires

I looked on Tirerack.com and Discounttire.cor and neither carried the Nitto 555's or 555r's? Where did you buy your tires?
