Re: New Project "R" thread
I went through the thread and all I can say is wow.
You're very dedicated and extremely talented. It's an extremely nice car and I wish you the best of luck with the DMV to get those papers done and get that beast on the road. |

Re: New Project "R" thread
Last (hopefully) of the paperwork arrived yesterday.
Priority mail to DMV tomorrow. I would like to take the car up to the 5/15 show at Gene Evans Ford in Ga., but that is likely hoping for too much.

Re: New Project "R" thread
Paperwork was received at DMV,
guy called me, and wants the serial number from the airbags (????) Took them out, took pics, wrote down the numbers, and faxing info to him on Monday. They are supposed to send someone out to check the trans serial number, (BRAND NEW FRPP 00R T56) after that is anyone's guess. Faxing a pic of the trans tag with the airbag info.

Re: New Project "R" thread
What a long road indeed! Its a shame that you're finished with the project and have to wait on "legalities" to go out there and enjoy the darn thing!
Good luck with everything, it looks terrific!

Re: New Project "R" thread
Thanks, it is almost as if they are "suspicious" of something.
Of what I have no idea. All they have to do is see this thread and look at the dates.

Re: New Project "R" thread
I don't understand why they are so nervous about approving the car for the street. It is probably built BETTER than Ford could have possibly built it. You have literally had your hand in every single nut and bolt in the car. Can't they feel the love and see the blood and sweat?

Re: New Project "R" thread
I suppose dealing with the State is not easy,
and it is likely not every day they deal with a BIW. Hopefully it will be approved soon. (week or 2)

Re: New Project "R" thread
DMV called today and wanted the car weighed at a certified weigh station.
Just returned. 3640 lbs. w / 3/4 tank of fuel, no driver. More paperwork going in tomorrow. I kinda wish they had told me that earlier, as I would have sent it all in at one time. Oh well, what can ya do?

Re: New Project "R" thread
Body In White
Body-in-White Ford Racing is now the sole distributor of 2005 Mustang "bodies-in-white" (BIWs) that many builders use as the basic structure to build race cars for a variety of different competition series, from road racing to drag racing. These bodies are sold for off-road use only and can be built up using any of Ford Racing's crate engines. For a builder to purchase a BIW, an application must be submitted to Ford Racing for review before release of the body for purchase. Applications can be found on the Ford Racing Performance Parts website: www.fordracingparts.com |
