Yeah no kidding. That Article was pretty slanted, but it was the only legitimate article I could find. After searching some gun forums, this bill goes way beyond what their telling. Scary stuff along with the HR-45 bill they have in the works.

It's getting interesting on all the email I'm starting to receive from acquaintances regarding the HR 45 bill - the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Act of 2009.

One was forwarded from a public service worker:
"HR 45 only makes me/us less safe. After working with convicts for 26 years I know this bill, if passed, would make them happy and in less danger from their victims."
"This is just a 'termite' approach to complete confiscation of guns and disarming of our society to the point we have no defense - chip away a little here and there until the goal is accomplished before anyone realizes it."

She (yes a she) recommended joining the NRA or any local hunting / rifle association even if you do not own a gun.

Restating my cliche: if you take my gun, only the criminal will have one to use against me.

Precisely why they should give up on other stupid laws prohibiting music piracy, prostitution, drugs, shoulder-guided missles, etc. If you want it bad enough, you'll get it somewhere.

The masses (majority) want this. A survey taken in 2003 before the law expired found that 62% favored renewing the assault weapons ban, including just over 50% of gun owners. 63% favored strengthing it, including 52% of gun owners.

I wont give any of my guns, guns that have been passed down through my family. Guns that I wouldnt shoot in a million years. I have a Colt Python thats never been shot, other then the 3 rounds Colt pops off when they make them.

all I can say is this president just scares me. he has the public snowed over and they believe anything he sees. I don't know how many people are aware of this but within his first 2 months in office he has spent more than the total amount spent on the war in Iraq from the beginning. yet he had the public hating Bush for how much he spent in the war. I'm not going to get to political here but when they are trying to silence talk radio because there needs to be more diversity in the media? yea Fox talk radio and online are the only conservative things out there. I just hope he doesn’t mess up our country beyond repair.

Im not one to focus on doom and gloom, but some of the stuff I hear come out of our presidents mouth has me on the defense. With the banning of AR's,(which is far more then just assault rifles) the HR-45 bill and now this... secret police. Obama's private army just like the kind Hitler had.
