Is this rotor bad?
Snatched this off a local forum - came off someone's brothers van. Shockingly, the caliper was shot too

Re: Is this rotor bad?
Sad thing is I see it realitvely often here at work, worse set I saw off a car were razor thin, literally the tech actully sliced his hand pulling it off!
people are crazy not to care about brakes.

Re: Is this rotor bad?
thats nuts!
I thought it was bad enough when a guy here ran his until the pads fell out, when the caliper started grabbing the rotor he finally had the mechanic here look at it to tell him what he needed

Re: Is this rotor bad?
I think those are the 'Price is Right' rotors, where the little white triangle slowly slaps against those stems to give the car a nice, smooth stop... Downside, is braking distance increases to 1.3 miles.

Re: Is this rotor bad?
WOW! Does that bring back a memory from 30 years ago.(Funny) My sister in-laws brother was changing his front pads in their driveway on his Challenger. As I walked up the front yard, I noticed he was putting the Caliper on, and it didn't look right from where I was. So curiously, I walked up and noticed that his Rotor looked just like that picture! I told him to take that Caliper off and get another rotor! He told me, 'NOW THIS IS FOR REAL'. He said, "It's fine. There's still some shinny parts left on it"....I was just stunned, there were no words I could find. He blew my mind with that remark. Well, I had to leave right away, and told my brother to take him to the part store and get a rotor. When he saw what his brother in-law was doing, I wasn't the only one who had no words to say. It's funny now, but if he ended up driving down the road, no telling who might have gone to the hospital that day. And to this day, I don't know how he has survived this long.

Re: Is this rotor bad?
Got his moneys worth out of those. Should take them in to NAPA and asked to have them turned just to see what they say.
