Need help changing out rear axle bushings

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this subject.
I have an 03 GT that I want to replace the rear axle bushings. I have the part and the tool from Maximum Motorsport to remove and replace.
I got one side halfway out and I couldn't get it to go anymore.
If there is anyone on this board from the Hamilton area of NJ and could come by and give me a hand with this I would appreciate it and also pay you for your time.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Need help changing out rear axle bushings

When I replaced mine I drilled out the old bushings by putting a ton of holes in it. Used a torch to heat the housing and a BFH to reinstall. It was not easy by any means.

I also dropped the whole rear when I did mine. I did it outside too in the dirt. Don't think I could have pulled it off with it still on the car.

Re: Need help changing out rear axle bushings

As mentioned, use a drill to make a series of holes. You will get hot rubber on exposed arms. Eventually, you will be able to tap out the metal sleeve. The rubber will be easy to pull out. For install, lube the new bushing & use a hammer to tap it in.

Re: Need help changing out rear axle bushings

I got the passenger side out. The MM tool got most of it then I hit the flange end with a hammer to get it out.
I hope all this trouble is worth the repair.

Re: Need help changing out rear axle bushings

The deed is done. I got the old bushings out and the new ones in.
The drivers side came out a lot easier.
Thanks guys for your advice on this repair.
