Took my Boss into dealer for the Trackey Program!!! Sweet! Rumbles like my old 69 Mach.

LoL.its not backordered they need to call them provide your Vin and name. Then they will receive a packet within 24 hrs and then load tune Via internet

No, they somehow worked it through, after tune we have to affix a sticker to fuel door for premium fuel, and the tune is actually pretty tough to use on street which I guess they did on purpose to stop people from using it in all day traffic. The throttle response is instant and very touchy and after letting off gas RPMs drop very very fast.

Ok , Whats going on with the shifter in these cars ? The Boss my friend got shifts like **** mostly 3rd to 4th gear .NO POWER SHIFTING DONE EITHER ! I know a few mags that tested them had problems with the trans too.Evan Smith was missing gears during his drag testing of their Boss.Anyway... Hes taking it back to the dealer tomarrow for a trans fluid change. I think its the shifter not the trans but the dealer said they have to follow what Ford says to do first.My friend says that for 43 grand they better fix it !

Its the shifter, when driving it, it works very nice, but when you take it over 6k the shifters original mounting starts to flex and move. MGW has made a shifter for it, it stops the flexing of the shifter..

Dealer said that the car is still new and they just changed the trans oil. Well that did not help any,it almost feels like the clutch it draging. Anyway hes going to see if he can get another shifter for it . I told him we will just install it and see if it helps if not Ill remove it .

There's a TSB for oil change, but it will create more whine noise. Shifter isn't firm enough. Check out MGW. Video on SVT

Yeah we know, that was the TSB ,and they changed the oil . Still shifts like crap. When is Ford going to realize that fluids will not repair a crappy trans (Mach) or shifter (Boss). I was getting interested in a Boss but when it was not offered in an auto , i got de-interested.

Hoping that was a joke, otherwise your buddy clearly bought the wrong car.


That being said, the new 6 speed has been shown to have numerous little quirks/outright problems from what I've read. Dunno why they couldn't commission tremec to build something with the crazy ratios the new mustang has. Instead its some chinese made unit with 50/50 shot of working great. T56 and TR6060 ftw.

Many many people have had zero issues including myself, I had hard time getting into 4th but I feel its due to my experience.
I believe Evolution Performance is running stock MT82 And running 10.79s
As stated above some had good results , some not, Heres a thread with peoiple talking how great its been.

No ,I found the shifter in THIS months 5.0 mag on page 124 .. then called and just ordered it but.. I know people there. Hurst also has one too but it does not have the stock reverse lock out feature . Hursts ad was in LAST months 5.0 mag on page 130. GTR is a dealer / dist for both of them .

MGW shifter came today sort of expensive but ,very well made . Looks like the install will be on Friday if we have a space open . My friend refuses to even drive the car until it is fixed . It seems that in spite of what owners will admit ..some get cars that shift good others get crap .I just hope its the shifter and not the trans. This leads me to believe that the Quality Control at Ford still needs improvement.

Yes.. the Dealer made sure he saw that first thing and stated driver error for shifting problems.The fact that 3 different people have driven the car( 2 have 2012 5.0s) kinda rules that out . Hell even the Ford Tech that test drove it said it sux.The clutch bolts were changed and so was the fluid neither had an effect on the missed shifts . The fact that Ford admits that only a percentage of cars have this problem makes getting it fixed it worse.
Fords NTSB concerns are related to people that had loss of power when the trans would not engauge pulling into traffic, a safety concern. Overall they said not really a concern... since no deaths envolved.
. My friends problem is that the shifting is 50/50 if its going 3rd to 4th not 1st or 2nd. The shifter/ linkage is just not gating like it should, so we are going to replace it with the MGW to rule that out.
