Re: 2013 v6 roush for 26k?!

That's pretty darn good for the money, especially for a big name tuner car. Albeit, that picture is with "optional equipment" so thats not how all of em would look unless you spend more money. With no other options, this vs a performance pack v6 would be an interesting test considering the super close pricing($1200). Its got the one big thing the PP v6 doesnt, the brembos.

I think the PP would outhandle this though simply due to more suspension changes. I'd rather get the PP, sell the 19" wheels(they dont clear the brembos) and gt brakes, and buy 18x9/18x10 gt500 wheels and the direct replacement brembo caliper/rotors using the $1,000 you saved. It may still have some hefty body roll, but now you have some SERIOUS brakes and tires on a car already noted as being able to turn out really good numbers.

Re: 2013 v6 roush for 26k?!

Base price on a base 2013 V6 Mustang is $22,200.
Destination charge $ 795
Roush package $ 4,000
Total $26,995

This is with no options whatsoever from either Ford or Roush. I actually would be fine with a base model.

Base price on a premium V6 Mustang is $26,200
Destination charge $ 795
Roush package $ 4,000
Total $30.995

This also is with no options from either. I'm sure Ford sells ten premium models to every base model because that is what the majority of the people want so in reality these cars will mostly be $31k and up with any kind of options. Now does this car seem that much more appealing than getting into say a new base Mustang GT?

Re: 2013 v6 roush for 26k?!

If you just want a road carver/autoX'er that may be a nice starting place. Not everyone wants a loud growl, less mpg, and more nose heavy.

If they had a 6spd manual option I'd totally did one of these with a new mild bolt-ons.

Re: 2013 v6 roush for 26k?!

It looks good, but at that price I'd rather get the base model with the performance package and pocket the rest or just get the base and put on the parts I really want.

The warranty on all V-6's is alittle different. You get a 3 year/36,000 mile makeover.

While that's a stereotypical response, the appearance and handling upgrades in this upgrade are a nice bargain for what is likely to be a great handling car with less weight over the nose.

New upcoming Mustang V6 s are being replaced with 330ho 4 cylinder turbo models, great on gas, lighter, more torque, and im guessing with mods with be a awesome machine.

It depends on your goals. And regarding "truth", it's an opinion. That said, having a twin-turbo V6 would be fun to me.

As an example, the MRT TKO...

And the truth is, there's more to life then putting drag springs in a car, running a quarter mile, and having your car handle like crap. Then again you made a truck fast so you know about that

Even with all the mods on your Mach, I dunno where I'd put my money you vs a stock v6 performance pack around a track. Weighs about the same as a Mach and about 200lbs less then a current gt, has a much better weight distribution, and is just a great handling car for the money and no slouch at the drags either. It's simply the best bang for the buck new car.

I highly doubt the new mustang would get the 330hp version of that turbo 4 since that's designed to be such a high performance car(focus rs) and the base mustang isn't. But, it would make sense to aim for 300+hp. 3300lbs, irs, crank it up to 380hp... vette with a back seat. Please and thank you. Ford.

Re: 2013 v6 roush for 26k?!

didnt the lightnings out handle the 99-04 gt mustangs ? i could swear they pulled more G's on the skids. i cant honestly remember. im at work or i would dig up the results.

dont be mad at my 420rwhp work truck bro

oh, my car doesnt have all the mods listed...to much stuff to be honest..uppers and lowers replaced, welded diff and tq boxes supported and welded, welded in subframe, eibach sportlines, tokico blues and other crap. the cars stayed the same for years now, its just a sunny day driver. i was going for road race with it, then decided F it. buy a shelby when the time comes. now that the 2013 shelbys are so nasty i guess im going to wait for one of those when the price drops.

Re: 2013 v6 roush for 26k?!

lightnings didnt out handle the 99-04 mustang gt's.
1999 lightning pulled a .81G
1999 mustang gt pulled a .86G
mines lowered with the frpp kit, not sure how much that helped handling.

still, not bad for a 5k pound truck that pulls a bass boat on the reg. and has towed the mach1 a few times. the worst its ever been loaded down was when i did a bathroom remodle. nittos dont like alot of tiles and concret. looked like i had wrinkle wall tires.
