temp sensor - look on the metal coolant crossover tube toward the driver side, thats the sensor threaded in. Any chance you forgot to plug it in when swapping stuff around?
theres only 1 sensor on these cars.

I been playing around with the car a bit more.
The low speed fan comes on very early, with in 5 minutes of driving. The high speed fan comes on at 85 degrees C. Also the air con comes on when set to the windscreen setting and the windscreen and feet setting as well as the expected AC and MAX AC settings. Is that normal? I started the car up, putting the heat on to the windscreen setting and watched the temp. At 85 degrees C the high speed fan kicked in and then there was condensation dripping back of engine bay passenger side from the air con. Really am lost at whats going?

if you turn the ac dial to any setting but off, the compressor is going to run. You do NOT need to have the heat turned on to burp the car and having it set to heat is actually going to make your situation worse because its taking heat out of the system making it even harder for the car to get up to temp. In these cars coolant is always flowing through the heater core, there is a blend door in the AC system that prevents warm air for the heater core from coming out of the AC vents.
why your fan is coming on at those temps I do not know. It sound like whoever did the tune for procharger did change the fan turn on temps. With your cooler ambient temps and the fan on high speed your car isnt getting warm enough to fully open the thermostat. At this point I think your best option may be just to unplug the fan and let the car idle. I would NOT drive it, Id sit in the driver seat watching the temp on the dash. I think if you can get it up around 100C that should be around 212F that would let the coolant circulate enough to start moving any air pockets. Let the car cool then check coolant at the crossover tube. If you have to add coolant repeat the process until you no longer have to add any. Again it usually took me 3 times.

The thermostat should open at 180 right? With the car being between 85 c and 88 c it surely should be open. What's the direction of flow of coolant on the Mach? Does it enter the rad via the right lower hose and come out the upper left hose? As for the fans, I will ask Procharger. So 85 c is defiantly not the correct low fan temp?

As I mentioned previously I think its 185 degree thermostat which means it starts to open at 185. I think it takes 10-15 degrees before they fully open so its not fully open until closer to 200. The stock low speed fan turn on point is something like 208 and high speed is 218 or something. calling procharger is probably a waste of time right now, they frequently dont know their *** from a hole in the ground and just because they told whoever writes their tunes not to change the fan turn on temps doesnt mean that company didnt do it anyway. thats why I suggest unplugging the power harness to the fan (its down by the AC lines, NOT the connection at the passenger side top of the fan, thats just the resistor that gives it a low speed).

That is very true!
I just focus on this one now. Going to look at this later when I get home. When the thermostat does open, should I expect the lower rad hose to be as hot as the others side of the thermostat?

Also, a random one ...
the new procharger coolant cross over has this little metal screw type filler top. There is no o-ring or seal with it. Just threaded. Is that normal?

yes thats normal, i believe its pipe thread, its tapered and thats how it seals.
I forgot to say coolant flow up out of the engine into the radiator then comes out the bottom through the thermostat and back to the engine. When the thermostat opens it blocks most of the flow from the bypass line. I would have to imagine the entire lower radiator hose should be about the same temp once the thermostat opens completely

Yeah that's what I would expect to see to.
Got a response from procharger that they have lowered the fan settings. As to what exactly and why I am still awaiting an answer

Then they gave me some figures ... ECT to turn on high speed fan 1 228, ECT to turn on high speed fan 2 228, ECT to turn on low speed fan 214. I assume this is stock? And do we two high speed fans?

procharger tech support strikes again.
we only have one fan and it has 2 speeds - low and high those temps are the same or higher than stock. I was thinking they were 208 and either 218 or 228 for high speed

They sent me a new file saying 'Attached is your file with the stock fan settings.'
I wonder why they would set them soo much lower!? I know these kits kick out more heat and a cooler engine produces more horses, but what they are set at, at the moment seems a bit over kill?

there we go, finally some information that seems accurate. Thats why the fans are kicking on so early.
The idea is with lower fan turn on temps you can get a jump on coolant temps and sometimes keep overall/average temps lower. It doesnt help a whole lot unless you go to a thermostat that opens at a lower temp though. If they sent you another tune with stock cooling fan turn on temps, I would load that tune and use it to burp the car then once satisfied its burped correctly and while ambient temps are cool. Once satisfied its burped if ambient temps get warmer then load the tune with the lower fan turn on temps

Have not changed the map yet, decided to give it a good 10 mile run today with the fan coming on early.
Temp got up to 194, and the thermostat looks like it opened and the cold areas are now hot. Will let it cool down and then see if it needs any more coolant.

I think I might stay with the may with those settings for now and see how I get on. If the fan starts to bug me I will use the map with stock settings I think.
