How many of you Mach 1 owners have other Mustangs in your stable?

Ive been thinking about getting out of the rock crawling game for a while now, and have had a couple offers for trades for various things. One in particular that im pretty interested in is a 86 GT (I love the 4 eye cars) with 50k original miles, exterior a 9 out of 10, and interior a 9.5 out of 10.
I just dont know what I would do with two Mustangs really. So im on the fence. Just wanted to see how many of you guys had other ponies besides their Machs.

I have 3 plus the 2 Machs. The Saleen & stock Mach are registered.

And an F150 for inclement weather...

I say get it if u can afford it. I wish I could afford another mustang! My boss has a super clean 95 gt that he has been trying to sell but I just can't afford two cars and a truck.

Re: How many of you Mach 1 owners have other Mustangs in your stable?

just have the mach for now. I am going to need to pick up another car this fall to drive in the winter. I will probably look for an XJ cherokee or something comperable for under $6k. If anyone has something like this they will be looking to get rid of later this summer feel free to shoot me a pm.

Even if I could afford to have a third car, I don't think I would buy a second stang unless it was a purpose built race car (CMC or AI series), or a special edition from the early 70's (boss 302, 429, mach 1, gt350 etc.). I personally don't see the appeal of owning two cars that would be so similar.

Re: How many of you Mach 1 owners have other Mustangs in your stable?

If you're limited by money and space (and most of us are), I think you'd want to know what role each mustang is going to serve.

For me, the '92 is my nostalgia car from my youth, for car shows, lazy cruises around town with the fam and something I can try to learn to work under the hood on for not too much $$.

The mach was to scratch more of the performance itch, but I couldn't molest it being stock and low miles, so I traded it for the '12--get performance, stock, cruising, and would look nice next to the '92 at car shows.

Those that love mustangs will always want another one. The '86 you're describing sounds great--but would what it be for you?--keep it stock/pristine as a low mile survivor or hop it up? That's the question to answer I guess. Having a 4x4 is fun in a whole different world, so...

Re: How many of you Mach 1 owners have other Mustangs in your stable?

I've been having this debate with myself for a while as I'm getting the itch to add another vehicle to the stable. The Mach will always remain (unless someone makes me an offer I can't refuse) as it is paid for and on collector's insurance.

I've been eying the new Mustangs and am very impressed with their power and stats. But, in the end, how different is it going to be? Is it going to be that different of an experience for me? I don't want 2 cars that behave the same and provide the same type of satisfaction - I want a whole different experience.

Then, add the wife into the mix. She doesn't like loud american muscle. She likes the european luxury and refinement. So, if I want her to like the second car, it's going to need to be something other than a Mustang - say a Lotus, Porsche, or BMW....maybe even a Nissan Nismo Z or something.

So far, I haven't seen a noticeable difference in a newer Mustang to give me a different enough experience to want a second Mustang. But it is hard to ignore the bang for buck that a Mustang offers...

Re: How many of you Mach 1 owners have other Mustangs in your stable?

I'm having 35's put on my TJ right now. I just stopped in and picked up my old stock tires and wheels and it looks awesome. My Jeep isn't over the top, I just did an OME TJ/LJ spring swap and JKS everything else. Hopefully they will get everything adjusted soon I want it back bad.

Other than that we have 4 Mustangs (2) Machs, 1 90 Kenny Brown LX hatchback, and the 89 521BB Notchback we just purchased. I love the Foxbodies.

In addition to the Mach 1 we have the following
1965 convertible (my first car, got it when I was 15)
1965 fastback (my wife's first car, she got it when she was 16)
1988 SSP coupe
1993 GT convertible

And I had a 91 LX hatchback that I sold for the down payment on the Mach 1

That is pretty cool that you both still have your first cars and they are Mustangs. Did you meet because of the stangs?

Re: How many of you Mach 1 owners have other Mustangs in your stable?

Mach1of3, your 85 is exactly what I want. I had one some years ago and traded it for a mint SVO. Half way home I had wished I wouldnt have done that even though it was a really nice car, and I made money on it when I sold it, but I loved that 85. You just cant find them in any kind of decent shape in MO. I have found a couple 85-86's, but they are few and far between.

devous1 - what are you plans for your Jeep. I built a full on 04 TJ Rockcrawler that was absolutely awesome, you point it in a direction and it would tackle pretty much anything. I had to sell it due to medical bills, so I built and bought my current ride a 99 Cherokee. 6'5" lift, locked front and rear on 35" Pro Comps. I went Cherokee for the extra length, its does real good, but I dont have my trailer and my F250 anymore to haul anything like I did with the 04, so I have to watch what I do on the trails. Drive in and drive out is my new motto. Last time I wheeled it I lost a pinion bearing with destroyed my front diff. I was pulling axles and everything in a McDonalds parking lot. Not the most fun ive had.

My TJ is my DD, mostly about a 10 commute. We do use it occasionally to get to some cell towers that we have access issues with. Build wise it is about where I want it, nothing too serious just fun to drive.

In addition to my Mach, I have a 1996 Cobra convertible, and a 1987 Gt with T-Tops and 10k actual miles. All are occasionally driven, I drive an F150 daily.

We met through a mutual friend but the fact that she was into Mustangs really got me interested. Not often that you find girls that are into cars.

As an added benefit she doesn't really complain too much about me buying stuff for the Mustangs.
