Help Identifying Extension/Delete

So I hit a monster coyote on the highway (RIP my front bumper) and he ended up getting pulled underneath. Didn't think much of it till I started hearing a metal clinking/jingling sound. Finally got around to putting the car on stands and found one of the O2 sensor's cables had been completely ripped apart. The other sensor had this plugged in. I'm not convinced this is just an extension because of the heatshrink bulge in the middle. Possibly some sort of capacitor or resistor to alter the signal?

Re: Help Identifying Extension/Delete

Since you have a catless X pipe I would bet it's a MIL eliminator for the rear O2 sensor.

Yup. I think I was freaking out a little and posted before looking around ha. So what's the general opinion on these? Should I order another new matching pair? Are they even worth the money?

I'm also showing P0158 and P0161 codes but they are surprisingly for bank 2 only (the side that had this MIl eliminator still in tact).

Good luck finding new ones, the feds got on people for selling things to get around emissions laws. You have to make your own or find someone still willing to turn em off in t eh tune to avoid a CEL

Oh, dang. Had no idea. I ran across a diagram somewhere showing how to make them. It didn't seem too difficult so I may take a stab at it.

American Muscle shows a set of MIL eliminators for about $50.

Yup. It’s under the Exhaust Accessories section.

Re: Help Identifying Extension/Delete

I have had a set of Steeda MIL eliminators in my Mach1 for at least 12 years, still working.

Re: Help Identifying Extension/Delete

I’ve tried three brands of MILs and none of them worked, I still think they’re a scam. Got a tuner and that fixed everything right up and permanently. I’d like to see a coyote knock a tune off a car.

Is it a mail order tune on that SCT or a pre-written one?
