FFW (Ennis, TX) - Nov 8, 2014

Just a reminder that Fun Ford Weekend will be at the Texas Motorplex on Saturday, November 8th. No other details on either web-site as of yet.

I'm planning on being there in the car show. Hopefully it'll be back in the food court. If you're around look me up.

The weather should be nice and cool instead of 100+ degrees.

I don't see why I can't make this event. Hopefully it will have a stronger turnout than the last few.

the spawn has a ROTC drill team meet in Seguin that weekend.

if it wasn't for Ron being there the last couple of years, i would have had no reason to go. the venue content hasn't justified their prices imo

Re: FFW (Ennis, TX) - Nov 8, 2014

I'll be there running in Fast Ford and maybe one of the other classes. Only thing I have left to do is change my gear from 5.13 to 4.88 and clean up the car. I'm planning to come early Friday to get some much needed testing in.

Just found out racingjunk.com is having a race on that Friday before Fun Ford Weekend so if I can have my gear installed while I'm at work will be there Thursday.

Some details can be found here http://funfordweekend.com/2014/10/20...event-details/

Looks like the Southwest Heritage Racing Association (which I've never heard of before) will be there also with their nostalgia-type cars http://SHRAracing.com along with the familar "Beat The Heat" racers.

I will have it done in time now since I won't leave until Friday morning instead of Thursday. So it gives me time Thursday to get my gear in probably start on it Wednesday night when I get back home so I be half way done with it.

Re: FFW (Ennis, TX) - Nov 8, 2014

I had to drive my car in the rain yesterday. Guess I'll have to get out the ol' wash bucket and redo it.
The weather should be nice and cool on Saturday.

The latest on the car show shows 25+ categories for awards. Last year they only gave out like 10 awards.

Will be interesting to see the nostalgia-type cars in the pits and make runs.

I'll be tuned into the Baylor / OU game in Norman!

Re: FFW (Ennis, TX) - Nov 8, 2014

Well I made it home just in time to see Texas A&M put a dagger in the heart of Auburn....not once but twice.

Class Winner in the 1999-2004 class was a black Mach 1 owned by a gentleman named Greg. I enjoyed visiting with him and sharing stories. His car is the nicest black Mach I've seen and ranks right up there in the Top 3 that I've seen. His car was spotless even right down to the nuts, bolts, and screws in the engine compartment. He even drove it to the event. Sounds as good as it looks. Well deserved award.

Also got to visit with Chris. He was there in his blue Mach 1 and was running in Fast Ford. Car runs very good in the quarter. Chris seems to have a good time no matter where he's at or what he's doing. I only caught him making one run though.

Guess I'll need to write another letter to Texas Motorplex as the car show was deficient in several areas. Like last year they only gave out 10 or so awards and two of those had the wrong year on them.

I've attached some pics from the show. Pics not very good but the best I can do with my camera.

Sad I missed it FFW, but got to watch the Aggies heart-stabbing from right there in Jordan-Hare stadium. Amazing.

Found out after Fun Ford while trying to get the car tuned for the final bracket race of the year that I have broke teeth on my gear.
