New (Again) Owner in OH

After selling my first 2003 Mach 1 back in 2010, I've definitely missed the ownership experience. I have all 3 generations of Bullitt Mustang models (2001, 2009, and 2019) but I have been looking to round out the collection.

I have a fondness for the 2012 Boss 302. I also have desired a 1968 GT fastback that looks like the car from the movie "Bullitt". I never did forget my Mach 1 experience though.

Today, I was able to purchase a black, non-IUP, manual 2003 model. It has 122,000 miles, but it has been well maintained by the previous owner. I wanted azure blue like my first one, but after seeing this car, I bought it. It is a color twin of my 2001 Bullitt, which is also black.

I am very grateful to enjoy the Mach 1 again. It still puts a huge smile on my face. I suppose I celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Mach 1 in a good way!

Thank you - I was so energized by the Registry event at Carlisle. So many beautiful '03 and '04s. I am glad to look over the shaker once again.

I wish it was my garage - haha! I rent the space to keep them in what you see. I only have a 1 car garage at my home. I am thinking I need a small plot of land and a pole barn somewhere.

It's been modified with different springs front and rear, Steeda bumpsteer kit, an X-pipe with no cats and Flowmasters, a JLT CAI, replacement rotors front and rear, an MGW shifter, LED interior lighting, sequential taillights, the SVT Terminator Cobra front fascia, and a 18" staggered wheel/tire set-up. Quite a bit of stuff already.

The only changes I'm planning on are an MRT H-pipe with cats to tone down the exhaust volume and deepen it a bit and either the stock airbox or MRT CAI. I prefer the enclosed system in the fender just because of the original design for the ram air functionality, rather than having a shield over the air filter that is not fully covered.

The driver left side seat bolster needs a repair from normal wear and tear, and there is a bit of surface rust underneath near the gas tank area that I will have removed. A body guy I know took a look and said it was just a cosmetic repair. There's no perforation to the spare tire well, or I likely would have passed on it because I didn't want to deal with a minor restoration.

Other than that, I will drive it around and savor the moments. I really love my Bullitt Mustangs, but this car really rounds out my collection that I wanted to get before retirement. I feel very fortunate.

Thank you very much! I really like the wheels, even though I am a fan of the stock wheels. Glad to have another shot at this fun car.

And that is why after numerous times of thinking of selling the Mach and coming real close to doing it once, I have never been able to let it go. One short trip behind the wheel and any thoughts of letting it go are gone. As much as I like the newer cars, they just don't have the same attitude and uniqueness of the 03-04 Mach 1's. Never have to look for a badge to determine if it is a Mach.

Tony, congrats with getting the Mach.

They are an 18" staggered size FR-500 style wheel. The previous owner had those put on. I believe he bought from American Muscle.

It does indeed look pretty good. There are some places where there are paint chips but overall, for as much as it has been enjoyed by previous owners, it's nice. Just fixing up little things here and there.
