Procharger head units and power goals
So guys, I think I've decided to go centri once I assemble my shortblock I bought. I'd like to start with 600-650 wheel area, plausible on the d1 or am I looking at f1 territory? How's f1 fitment on our cars ? Any Mega modifications needed ? Kinda weighing options and trying to finalize a plan, I'd like to have it complete maybe 2018. Going to continue running my nitrous setup on stock motor while I complete this setup on the side.

you can make over 600 with a D1 on pump gas, I did it with 93octane on 10:1 compression , no head work, mild cams and full exhaust, 3.5" blower pulley. Same setup with E85 made over 700. I think theres enough RPM left int he blower for another 3-5psi

thats where Im really not sure, when we rebuilt my motor (oiling issue) we dropped it to 9.5:1 because its mostly a pump gas car but itll be a bit before I can get it back on the dyno. The other side of the equation is that we should be able to feed it quite a bit more timing, we were limited to 14 degrees under basically perfect conditions before.
with a centri I dont think Id go below 9.5:1, too much of a dog out of boost imho

Do have a converter also so it won't see any real low rpm time

Yea I figured about 8.5, curious how far you can push a d1. Looks like there is a lot more to an F1 build.

Really just trying to figure out a game plan before i commit to parts. I've researched a lot of combos, i see a few guys in the mid 600s with a d1 but it seems to be the top end, the F1 appears to be a little more work but would easily hit my goal with room to grow should i hit the lottery lol. Trying to figure what makes more sense. Guessing a good bracket setup like the house of boost set is a must it would seem?

im just really not sure with that compression ratio, youve gone well beyond me lol. I still plan to eventually turn up my D1 on E85 and shoot for high 700s but I'll probabl waste gate it and keep it mid 600s on pump just for safety sake
kinda sounds like an F1 might be what ya need... LittleMags would be a good person to talk to

I've seen a couple combos with a D1 around 700. I don't remember the exact details though. I'm pretty sure higher compression and race gas was part of the build.
I've ran a D1 and F1A so here's my opinion. If you're going to go for 600-650 and are either going to stay there for a long time or forever, go with the D1. You'll have to spin it a little harder, but that's a good thing. When you start spinning a centri hard it starts building torque up. If it's going to be a deal where you want 650, but in 6 months you'll want 700, go for the F1A. I highly doubt you'll ever outgrow it. Unless you start looking for 1500+. The thing about the F1A is you need to spin it. I had mine pullied to max out at 65k rpm at my shift point. That still gave me 10k rpm to play with, but it still hit hard on the low end. My experience was a little different as I had a big bore stroker. To be honest I considered installing the F1A on my 04 when I had everything laying around. As for mounting it, I used the D1 bracket to mount the F1A. I had a full 8 rib swap with an ATI overdrive crank pulley and Thump tensioner. I had no belt slip issues. But I also had to spend some time getting the pullies aligned.

Some good info there, honestly I'll probably be in the boat of wanting a smidge more in 6 months lol but probably not a whole lot more. I do like the idea of being able to grow with a bigger blower as well, it was my understanding the procharger bracket flexes and creates a lot of issues past a D1. I had seen the renegade kit is built around an earlier front cover but thats not too big of a deal since planning now will save some work in the future. Might have to shoot littlemags a pm

That was actually easy...my old build page shows my whole build...I spin my car to 20lbs on a cog system. Could go waaaay higher but everything fit with a super pulley from ATI and cog lower
