SCT Tuner Serial Number

Ok I have a SCT tuner. There is something wrong with the file on it and I am getting no help from SCT. My Mach 1 when using any tunes of the SCT device causes my tachometer to peg down to zero when the vehicle is running. The speedometer does the same thing! The car pings horrible with any tune off o this device.

They wont help me unless I can get a valid serial number off someone's device that has a stock mach 1. WTF!!!

Can someone give me a serial number so I can get my device replaced from SCT. Not sure why they wont just use my device serial number!!!

Re: SCT Tuner Serial Number

Download the device update manager from SCT. Reflash the car back to stock. Extract the stock tune and save it just for safety and I'd have the email tunes saved somewhere as well.

Update the firmware. Reload the custom tunes. If the car runs like trash with the aftermarket tunes but fine with the stock tune, the tunes probably are no good.

You can pull serial number and computer codes using device info when the tuner is plugged into the car.

Re: SCT Tuner Serial Number

so they want the serial number off an SCT device of someone with a stock Mach1? that doesnt seem to make any sense to me

are you sure they dont want the computer code from a Mach1 ECM (4 digit code I think?)

yes I even called BAMA tuning and they said that sounds odd. BAMA told me my device is no longer being made and they recommend me buying a new one for a discounted price with the newest tuner which is the S4 I think. Weird thing is SCT even thought the device itself is corrupted. Just 379.00 dollars wasted back in 2010!

Going to try an new tune from BAMA just to see before I purchase a new device!

Yeah I tried all of that before. Still didn't work...SCT had me thinking the tune that came from the factory was wrong. SoOOOO I went to Ford they chaecked the computer flashed and found out there is nothing wrong with stock tune on the Mach. Then of course I got the lecture from the tech about using tuners on our cars....

Re: SCT Tuner Serial Number

Idk then. But I wouldn't run a bama tune if they gave it to me for free.

Re: SCT Tuner Serial Number

I'm looking for a tuner myself. I am confused with the replies stated here. I was thinking about a hand tuner but" WHAT WORKS". I was thinking about the hand tuner so I can set it for diffrent tunes, depending on the application. Race day, street race and daily driver. Any information would be appreciated.

Funny you wrote that because THE TUNES ARE FREE FOR LIFE. I was told I could purchase another tuner (X4) at a discounted rate. They stated not having the correct computer code off of the computer will cause pinging as well.

There is something wrong for sure because my Mach will get all out with the stock tune but add any other tune it sounds like ping pong ping. I even switched to no ethanol fuel to see if that my have something to do with it *** they once suggested and same freaking thing. PING PING PING. Go back to the stock tune nasty girl again!
